Photographer’s Note
Finns are full of great ideas. They really want many tourists to visit their country and that's why they're always building something new to attract tourists. Unfortunaly all of those things always end up being not-so-cool. And if they are cool they cost like hell.
So that's why I was quite surprised when I went to this snow castle. It was not huge and you can't spend all day there, just about two hours, but it was really nice! Definitely worth visiting. Again, it would be much cooler if we could have stayed in the hotel inside the castle but that also costs too much.
The snow castle itself didn't look amazing, but the bar inside was extremely cool. Everything was made of ice, the tables, chairs, sculptures and you can even drink your Finlandia Vodka from a glass made of ice. The temperature is always -5 celcius, no matter how cold the temperature is outside.
This castle is very close to the train station, you can easily walk there. Well that's obvious because Kemi is a tiny tiny town without almost anything. So you just go there to see the castle and that's it. But that's how Finland is. If you want to see things you can't spend your holiday in just one city, you have to travel around because no city has more than one or two things to see. But if you just want to relax by the lake, that you can do anywhere.
-----------------
EDIT: For once I thought Finns had something special and unique, but of course the god damned Swedes had to be first (as we can see from the pictures of Hercules (Cretence) ). Well, at least we copied something cool! :)

Hi Anu,
now, this is a cool photo. When I saw it I just laughed because it's so "kitsh"!!! The blue and pink neons early 90's style with these people kissing like in a TV serie romance... this is just great!
Well done!

Cool romance, Anu
Fantastic ice castle. I agree that the Finns are full of great idea.
This unigue design bar is a fantastic set up for this lovers. The gloomy blue atmosphere with some bright highlight spots push them out of the blue.
Looks like a very modern romance.

Hei Anu,
A cool shot indeed! Cold colours, arch of ice, the ship. And well placed couple showing as a silhouette. Like a dream.

Terve Anu,
There is currently a thread about LOVE on the general forum and this picture that flew in front of my eyes would qualify best to be a potential winner in such a context. I like here you captured well the moment and preserved the intimity of the scene having it as a silhouette over the feeric background of this snow castle, the variety of lights displayed is very enjoyable.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hi Anoula,
when I saw the Santorini-photo, you just posted, I thought: "Oh no, not again!". You are right; it looks very much like a typical postcard cliché. After a few months of TE-membership I’m traumatized by this type of Santorini-photos and therefore I can not give you points for it although it’s a good shot. But it showed me the path to your gallery, which includes some very nice pics. Most of all I liked this one. In fact it reminds me very much of the pictures Iraklis (Cretense) posted of the other, similar place in Sweden. I like yours more though because it is more vivid and has more sex appeal due to the kissing couple. So, don’t be jealous of the Swedes: Your frozen palace seems to be much hotter than theirs.
Cheers
