Photographer’s Note

More traditional view than on my previous upload. This was also shot on Toompea hill. The tallest tower is of Oleviste Kirk (St. Olafs church). There's many round towers on the wall surrounding the old town.

Tallinn is a really nice city, I lived in a little provincial Hungarian town, Szolnok (in TE Hungary/East/Jász-Nagykun_Szolnok/Szolnok), a twin town of Tallinn, and there is a district in Szolnok called Tallinn a tribute to the Estonian capital, have you heard about it? BR, Jalab

That's a beautiful detail for these fine towers karj , very clean image and winderful quality too , colours are nice and natural , the clouds inthe sky help a lot , compliments.

Nice composition with the towers spread through out the shot. The lighting and colors are great with nice sharpness and detail. Your POV is great showing the city from above the rooftops.

Hello Kari,
I like the picture because of the beautiful colours and the good composition. Everything is very clear and sharp.
On all the pictures of the skyline of Tallinn we also see something that reminds me at a chimney of an old factory. I also have it on my Tallinn pictures.

A lot of verticals in this vertical projection of this wonderful city, i had a great pleasure to visit in the past. The clarity of this kit lens is just wonderful here. I was quite happy with this 18-55, and see You've got other great results with it ;)

Hi Kari,

I've missed this one, where the light is awesome with the way it smoothly put these tower in evidence.

I really like your point of view and the level at which your shooting, allowing only roofs and top of the trees to come out. Well, that's a good thing, because that's one of Tallinn big feature and it's probably one of the best way to present this city.

beautiful "traditional" view of the city! I like the beautiful rich colours and the composition which allows to see so many buildings at the same time. The light clouds at the top is a very nice addition to the mood of the photo :) Perhaps I should visit Tallinn one day, too!

Hi Kari,
It’s a lovely cityscape you have here, making use of a warm, tender light and an excellent array of elements throughout the frame. The multicolored towers align in the diagonal, and the brick-colored roofs cluster with the vivid green treetops, all creating depth and a bright colored palette. The deep blue sky, with a stripe of altocumulus, create the perfect ceiling, conducting our eyes through the diagonal even more efficaciously.
