So, back to my once lost set of negs. Not a particularly original view of Tallinn, or even a very adventurous compo, but there's things I like about this, the spinkling of snow adds even more of touch of charm to this fairy tale picture book like place, and my simple old faithful Nikon compact still doing its job well.

it looks precisely as you wrote: a sort of a fairy tale picture book; the colours look as if an architect was a child trying to reflect his or her childish imagination;
beautiful scenery indeed;

I like the striking contrast, between the colorful roof tops & buildings, against the rather drab grey sky. Excellent pov & sharpness. Tfs!

Richard bonjour - a great landscape - I like a lot the colors and the sharpness -
wonderful spots of colors in all the view

Yes, a bit more conventional than some of your recent shots, Richard, but appealing nonetheless. Very nice light, and a good pov to bring us these colourful and pretty snow-covered rooftops, spires and turrets. I like it.

I agree its like a fairytale. The mood of the place and the look are great. Paericularly the way the winter colors match the colors of the architecture. The POV is very dramatic.

A truly lovely greeting card, Richar, NOT an ordinary postacrd but almost a painted card, if you see what I mean. Sonerful colors and a tooy town atmosphere reigns here.

i think the colourful rooftops, including those orange spires, really make this shot attractive. the tree in the foreground is a pain in the butt! lol ... chop it down and shoot again.
this is a landscape of rooftops. very creative shot. nice work!

This is the quintessential view of Tallinn!! Your colors are lovely and Oleviste Kirik stands perfectly off center in your photo. The snow you had brings out the brilliantly colored roofs even more.
Back in 1979 I took a photo from near where you were standing. Beneath the stone fence down some 10-20 feet someone had spray painted some interesting grafitti: "God is love". Under a Communist regime that was a "double" daring feat!

Nice comprehensive view of the town in this "oldie", Richard. Good details well enhanced by the sugar coating of the snow, and I like how this looks almost like a hand-colored b&w photo.

Hi Richard. Nice panoramic view of the old town, really nice with the old wall and the frozen sea in the background. good find, it's making me want to go to my photos from this area!

i've been to Tallinn in 2004, and liked the sympathic city from the first moment. I like the line of roofs from the left to the right most on this fine rooftop-shot.

Good capture where you make a good composition and the light is very useful: adds a very nice touch to the photo.

the colors....such colors are something special to see in europe. i am always saying that you have to move away from europe to get rich full colors, and now you show me here that there are colors in europe as well. however, tallinn is the only one city maybe in the whole of europe that can get my heart beating on colors. nice work, alan

Nice viewpoint (even if it isn't an original one!). The composition is good & so are the colours, and I think you've done a good job on the scan as well.
