Photographer’s Note

Ship wreck on the island of Osmussaar, Estonia.

Osmussaar (Swedish: Odensholm) is an island belonging to Estonia, situated in the Baltic Sea 7.5 km off the Estonian mainland in Noarootsi Parish, Lääne County. Its area is 4.7 km² (1,160 acres). There are only two permanent inhabitants on the island.

The island is named after the Vikings' chief god, Odin, who, according to a legend, is buried on the island. Before the Soviet Union occupied Estonia during World War II, 130 people, mainly Estonian Swedes, lived on the island.

All inhabitants of were forced to leave the island in 1940, when the Soviet Army base laid the foundation on the island. Osmussaar was the last foothold in Estonia that was given up by the Red Army to the advancing German army in 1941.

First of all welcome to TE... And a very nice post for beginning.
I am deeply struck by the depth in your photo, this is what made me click on the thumbnail and first writer on your photo.
Clearity on the foreground with mossy rocks is amazing. I like your close to ground point of view a lot.. Congrats and hope to see you around...

Very good use of wide angle lens. I like that everything is in focuse from rocks nearby to the shipwreck in the distance.

Excellent first posting. I love your low POV and the foreground leading us to the wreck. The diffuse light just touching the rocks and the lovely splash of color from the moss make this quite special. Looking forward to seeing more.
