Photographer’s Note
Finally Faroe Islands
Due to some storm in the Atlantic my ship to the Faroe islands and Torshavn was 12 hrs. delayed.
But let me share my joy of finally being here with this photo right out of my hotell window.
Some grassing sheeps in the foreground and the small capital of the islands: Torshavn in the back. The ferry still in the harbour to continue to Iceland at 8pm (in 1 hour).
As you understand I just arrived but are already quite impressed of these small islands in the middle of the North Atlantic ocean ;-)

God aften Jack
I think you have always delivered great photos to the world of TE, and I can't find this to be an exception.
I find the natural look to this photo to be the one thing that makes it attractive. It is a photo of the Faroe Islands as you see it, we see it through your eyes and that is what makes it so special.
I have never been to the Faroe islands amd propably never will, but the view from your POV makes it even more interesting. The sheer desolate feeling I get from this photo is far above what I have seen before. With my classic view of Faroe isnlands only being massive crags dropping abruptly to the sea I find this to be a massive difference.
The photo looks well balanced and combined with the greyish overall view of the land I feel we get an impression of how cold and wet this palce can be at times.
Now lets just hope you boat home isn't that delayed....

Hello Jack,
Such a view from a hotel window must be quite rare. I think it shows us the Faroe Islands in a nutshell. This must be one of the fastest uploaded pictures I've seen on TE. You were really anxious!

Gert

Hallo Jack!
What a view! Here you show us a rather unknown part of Europe - and I think a beautiful and impressive one. I like the very special feeling of wideness transmitted by this picture. Have a wonderful stay there - I'm a bit envious ;-))Greetings from very autumnal Germany!

Hello Jack
I like the pastel & superb sharpness in this outstanding landscape. Good sharpness & mood, with subtle sunset colours. Tfs!

Hi Jack,
You're sitting high up a hill abvoe Torshavn. Beautilful view with cool colors. It's funny, but it seems that there is a slight dip in the horizon...or is it me??
Anyway, a nice shot. Keep them coming.
Regards
John
