| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This is almost the national symbol of Denmark. The Little Mermaid was once a story written bye Denmarks most favorable wrighter for children; H.C. Andersen. He wrote many stories like "the ugly duckling" as well. This statue, in memory og H.C. Andersen, is situated just north East of the city centrum of Copen hagen outside "Kastellet".
""The Little Mermaid" (Danish:Den lille havfrue) is a fairy tale by the Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen about a young mermaid willing to give up her life in the sea and her identity as a merperson to gain a human soul and the love of a human prince. The tale was first published in 1837 and has been adapted to various media including musical theater and animated film." (copy from www.wikipedia.org/The_little_mermaid) |

Nĉmmen Hallo..
Lovely shot of this little lady. (Hard to think that someone came up with the bright idea of chopping her head of a few years back. Luckily they retrieved the head, and mended the damage...)
I like the way you captured this statue, and the weather is perfect for the storry you refer to in your note... TFS.

Hi Per,
I think a visit to the Little Mermaid is obligatory when you visit Copenhagen. Quite surprising that you could capture her without other tourists in the foreground. A very good off-centred composition and well staturated colours on the stones and the red roofs in the background.
Regards,
Lars
Well, personnaly I like your little mermaid, especially the stone basis, although I regret that the upper part of the statue is a bit dark which masks the details. Probably a very traditonal image of Copenhagen, but tradition is something to be preserved. The warship in the background is a stranger coincide (perhaps a mermaid hunter...).
All the best,
Emmanuel

You can never admit to having visited Copenhagen without actually seing the "Little Mermaid".
So...yes... you have been to Copenhagen!
Overall a good photo, good colour preservation but maybe a little less DOV would be in order?
