A little change form yesterday's posting: some work on the deck, to use the cheap manpower and enthousiam of the trainees (see how the little blonde is pulling on the ropes). This is a pilot ladder under construction, several planks linked by knotted ropes. You tie it to the side of the ship and you can go directly into the boat waiting for you (if you are fast and lucky, you will not have to jump, nor to wet you feet). The Swiss sailor Christian is supervising the work here (in blue overal with lots of white paint sspots, on he right).

Hello Emmanuel,
This is a very good documentary photo. The sharpness of the analog to digital image is excellent. You seem to have found the right amount of sharpening. I tend to under-sharpen my analog to digital photos at bit. Mine seem to suffer from oversharpening too often. You have this frustrating conversion process down to a science. Perfect color balance, excellent sharpness and detail and excellent composition. Great work!
Stan

Salut Emmanuel, C'est intéressant de voir qu'il y a plein de choses a faire sur un bateau (école?)!
La nettete et les couleurs sont excellentes, surtout si on considère que c'est une image scannée! La scène et leur activité sont bien cadrées.

Hello Emmanuel,

Interesting to see a photo of the work on board again.
I remain in this series believe, this is pure nostalgia.
The force and the faces of the young sailors do my think back at end of 1959/60.
Very well picture with a great sharpness and clarity.
Thanks for sharing.

Best regards,
John.
