Photographer’s Note

We continue our Copenhagen citywalk into the Kastellet. When you take a look at the Kastellet on
Flashearth you see the Kastellet is build in a pentagram-shape. What you see here is the entrance on the north side, which is the side trough which we entered.

We didn't really know what to expect. We noticed the star-shaped island on the map and figured we might as well walk through this. When we entered the Kastelled we were amazed by the quietness, peacefullness and beauty in here.
If you look closely you see two people sitting on a bench, enjoying the sun. Once again a beautiful reflection of the wonderful weather we had this October-weekend :)

----------
Founded by Christian IV 1626. Fortifications from 17th century.
The buildings in Kastellet are to-day used as military barracks, but the area is open to thepublic and a favourite 'green lung' for a brisk walk on the ramparts.
