[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [French]
Peter, our Inuit friend, took us by boat to his house located in a small ghost village in the North of Greenland where he is the only one to live with his 12 sled dogs. Please note his seal boots.

Alone in the ice nine months a year...

I like seeing different cultures and different places on TE and this one attracted my attention as Greenland is one of the places I'd really like to see (especially after reading Smilla's Sense of Snow). As for the shot, the sharpness is very successful. It includes enough of the surroundings to give an idea about your model's lifestyle. It must be a hard life alone with dogs on ice for nine months. Very well done.
Best regards from Turkey

Hello Marie Ange! Tough, it must be so tough to live there alone... Your photo captures the mood, the harsh (though beautiful) landscape and it, like all good portraits, depicts the man in his surroundings. I suppose light wasn't easy here, but you have managed it very well. Faithful colours and good composition on the man.
Good work!
TFS and best regards
Inés

Hi Marie Ange,
He looks like a real character....and must be, to be able to stay alone for nine months. It is so fascinating to see these type of indeviduals who I would probably never see or meet in my life. The image provides a good sense of who he is, and what he does, and certainly we get a good reflection of his environment. Well done.
Cheers Grant

Bonsoir Marie Ange,

Amicalement,

Paul
