Photographer’s Note
As Manuel (Manny) pointed out some photos ago, am I the most unpredictable poster on TE :-) In order to keep up my reputation ;-) I decided to post this portrait of Hans-Jurgen.
The 20th of June was I sitting on the restaurant-boat “Oranje” in the harbour of Svendborg and watched this tramp sitting on a bench – I couldn’t stand the change of getting a portrait so I took the camera, a “handful” of money and approached him.
His name Hans-Jurgen and he comes from Lubeck, Germany (spoke only German) – As many other “tourist” he liked to be in Denmark and have decided to travel around a while and then return.
Actually he’s about to write the address, where I should send the photos I took. On the extra photo can you see his “luggage trolley” and the pier as well.
There are also some Danes living the free life on the roads – and I will try to get a shot of a “real” vagabond later.

Funny, I would have guessed he was a tramp if you hadn't pointed it out, just a sloppy (English) tourist. and an address to post the photos? Quite a well sorted-out tramp :-) Great capture, and keeping up your reputation.

A quite special pose with those legs but it does give some good lines in his figure, and his expression is very nice and kind. So I like the way you caught him, but I think the background is rather intrusive, the glaring white benches and the strong diagonal lines behind take too much attention.

Well Jeppe, I think this happen all the time when the kids go away! Just joking!
I like the portrait with all the details of this 'vagabond' apperently in good health and humour.. Well done!

Is allways difficult to shot a 'natural' pose of persons. The technicals come in 2° order, for me.
Nice composition & nice picture, bravo!

Very good, Jeppe! Hans-Jurgen seems very much at peace with himself. I like his relaxed posture and the expression you caught on his face. You got some great detail here, right down to the worn out shoe.

Nice shot of Hans-Jurgen. A typical portrait of a traveling, happy globetrotter.

Great capture of this traveller Jeppe and I really like the "laughing shoo" on his left foot and of course the look on his face. I am sure this tourist will always have a nice time without stress. Well seen and thanks for sharing.

i like his shoe alot, it's smiling at you too. His general pose is really good and he has a pair of friendly eyes, surprised to see that they take men his age at footballschool (that's what it says on his hat, right?). You ARE really unpredictable ;o)

Hi Jeppe, this is my favorite among your photos I missed during the last week. A genuinely interesting and also sympathetic character. Great details all over, and as if the view of his one worn-out shoe wasn't enough, the workshop photo illustrates the truly troublesome state of Hans-Jürgen's footwear. Very good one.
