Call the Bridge Photo

Photographer’s Note

I have sail at the Limfjord to a Island Noth of Struer several times. There is a bridge to cross, and to get trought here, you must call the bridge, to open the flaps.

In land I got that in mind, and another way in my mind to tell tat in a composition, is this picture.

Oddesund Crossing Point and Fortification:

When the sea broke through the isthmus Aggertangen in 1825, Oddesund became the umbilical cord for traffic connecting Thyland and Hardsyssel, and the connection across the narrow sound therefore became a bottleneck on the major West Jutland trading route from Thy to Germany, rendering the old-fashioned rowing boat ferry service inadequate. In the years 1861-64, a small harbour was therefore founded on the northeastern side of the spit, where it may still be seen. When the Thy railway line was established in 1880-82, one of the very earliest steamship connections was opened here in 1883, the dilapidated port for which may still be seen. In 1938, the bridge across Oddesund was opened.

In times of war and crisis, Oddesund held great strategic importance. Evidence of this is the considerable bunker fortifications constructed by the German forces during World War II. An exhibition showing the construction of the fortifications, their role during the war, sabotage, the local population's experiences during the war and the significance of the plant seen in light of the German defence positions along the Jutland west coast in general was opened in 1992, in the old bunker that served as command headquarters.

Good morning Kaj. I like this dark tones at the composition. Red phone cell is very good placed on the photo and especialy great on this picture I found the frame. It`s give really good 3D look. Your note is ofcourse allways more than very good and useful.

Very beautiful composition which complies with the rule of the thirds perfectly ;-) The color sinks and deep associated with cold / hot contrast is superb

nice composition of the red phone-boot competing with the blue sky having some red shine as an answer to the boot the other side. Good cropping reinforcing the ritme in perspctive of the bridge.

Funny combination Kaj - and your lucky to spot a phonebox after all - they seems to becomed rare after people got cell-phones instead - Nice to watch this bridge as well - diden't used it this summer :-)

Diferent style, but still just as good as the other ones. I like the light inside the phonebooth, and the way it seems you have a reflection of a sunset on the side of the booth. The compo is as always perfect and it's nice to see that you get some cloudy weather up there aswell ;o)

J'aime bien ici le mariage des teintes qui donne un rendu du style aquarelle.
