Photographer’s Note
I had made myself a promise not to post anything untill I had a portrait I could share, but since that seems to take I while, I'll pass time with this. Another dramatic scene in the Danish sky. I searched the web for info on the matter, here is a bit of what I found:
Cloud Types
common cloud classifications
Clouds are classified into a system that uses Latin words to describe the appearance of clouds as seen by an observer on the ground.
Latin Root Translation Example
cumulus
stratus
cirrus
nimbus heap
layer
curl of hair
rain fair weather cumulus
altostratus
cirrus
cumulonimbus
They are apparently also classified after how low or high they are in the sky.
It seems the clouds I've been shooting lately are "low level clouds" and "vertically developed clouds" I figured that after comparing them to pictures on the net and reading that those a the rainy ones.
PP, alot of contrst in the sky, brightene up the foreground, worked on levels and sharpened forground by using "unsrap mask" tool.

Hi Line; it's amazing how the clouds seem to be sucked up by the last bit of blue. I believe Scandinavia is having one of its worst summers in decades; this shot appears to support that. But I think what I like most about this pic is the light shining on the green, giving it a surreal effect. The silhouette of the foliage in the background is also striking. Good stuff!

Rather grainy, but an excellent moody shot. A sky straight from a horror movie. Thanks for the note meteorology. May be useful when I go boating again next week.

Great atmosphere... literally and figurative.
I like the small patch of sunlight on the grass. The grainy appearence is not eccessive, taking into account that it probably results from the unsharp masking.
The clouds you pictured are carying a lot of rain.... I hope you could get shelter on time....

Clouds-hunter!? :o) Aren't you! ;o) You catch them all. There can be cloudy-weather sometimes. Very good capture, also very useful note.
Good job.

Very nice. I must confess to being a sucker of this kind of imaging, and here you have succesfully composed a dramatic scene. Follow Richard Birkett's submissions for some ideas on how to improve an image PP.
Regards, and well done Line,

This is a lovely image and very apropos considering you find yourself in such blustery weather. The blue sky in the midst of dramatic clouds and the sunlight falling on the grain really make this image. Your PP works well also Line. I've no doubt the portrait will happen, but until it does I'm happy to view your other work. Good job.

Ce ciel donne froid dans le dos, il a l'air extremement menaçant, il est superbe et c'est bien dommage, qu'ici, en Belgique, nous ne puissions pas en voir souvent de pareils.

Very Dramatic Line! Funny how there is a tiny patch of blue sky illuminating the land. Excellent note too. Thanks!

Very dramatic again. I like this one better because I find the composition simpler and more effective with a more obvious relation between the patch of light on the ground and the hole in the clouds, they make a triangle together, a classic and good way of composing a frame.
The PP effect on the foreground is almost over the top but it's allright it looks like light from an UFO. (was there any strange circles in the field?)

Another good one, Line, I would say this one came out slightly better than your previous - at least it appears a little less on the noisy side, and the ratio between effectiveness and simplicity of your composition sure is at the maximum. Also I'm a sucker for colors and even if there's not many of them they sure are nice. I agree that the light on the field almost looks a little outworldish, but it only enhances the mood. A great way to take advantage of our current so-called "summer" weather.

I think this is the best of your cloud pictures Line. I just love the little sunny place in the middle surrounded by all the heavy clouds. Very dramatic and excellent composition.

And I prefer it to the previous one, maybe because of the trees in silhouette.

The hole in the ozone layer? I thought it was Antartica! This is awsome, with great mood. Well done, Line. For this, one can have winter in summer, not so?
BTW cumulus normally bring thunder showers, can be kms deep. Cirus are very thin, very high and now rain. Both nimbus and strato also bring rain, but softer. There is also combo's of all these.

Hermosa imagen Line. lo sombrio de esas nubes casi espectrales contrastan con el verde en primer plano, conformando una composicion muy bella.
Excelente tu relato.
Beautiful image Line. the shady thing of those almost spectral clouds contrasts with green in a first plane, conforming very artistic composition.
Excellent your story.

Thought I come by and say hello, just in case you are back. Just admiring this view here. Darkness and cloudy all over but there's a gap, like a hope and a running glimmers on the reeds. Happy New Year Line.
