I couldn't resist to post one more picture of the same place as the previous one and also from the same pov. The perspective and the view is a bit different because of the disappeared fog.
I stayed awake all the night because amazed by the wonderful arctic night. The colours changed almost every hour, from the golden yellow to this nice pink.
No pp was made here apart slight noise removing, due to the scanning.
Hope You like it!

riclopes (35577) 2007-03-16 5:25
Olá Attila, I can understand why you couldn't resist to upload this one, right after your previous one. It's a pleasure for me to observe this amazing view once more, with a diferent tonal range of colors - this time is pink. What will be the next color? :))))
grantlp (2113) 2007-03-16 5:27
What a great composition, and the lighting is spectacular. It looks like the coloured houses are floating on the icey waters. Overall a striking image....staying awake was worth it.
bantonbuju (51813) 2007-03-16 5:28

I am in love of this wonderful shot. Excellent composition, wonderful lighting and great perspective.
Paolo (41222) 2007-03-16 5:30

Very atmospheric scene, full of frozen beauty. You are real globtrotter. I like the light especially its reflection in the water. Interesting, scandinavian style of architecture.
besnard (55836) 2007-03-16 5:34
bruce_wayne (1507) 2007-03-16 5:35
Great!! ANother very nice shot, Attila!
In this picture I like very very much pink sky, this is good composition, wonderful houses, great colors...
Gustaw (21670) 2007-03-16 5:37
Hi, my friend!
Very nice photo. I like your composition. Specialy I like architecture and rufs. Nice cold colours. Good light and good idea.
TravelerNL (3011) 2007-03-16 6:01
I like this one much better then the daylight version. The colors are beautiful here, especially the pink sky and its reflections to the water.
I've had the pleasure of seeing the midnight sun in northern Sweden (see 2 am near Kiruna in my gallery) but this light is much softer.
vinicio (23423) 2007-03-16 6:09
PixelTerror (0) 2007-03-16 6:29
Between both I prefer the other one for the diversity of colors on the house and the clarity, but this one at the very early (or late) pink hour shows a different atmosphere and is very nice to see too.
Have a nice day,
Gerrit (51906) 2007-03-16 6:43
still better than the first one with the background black mountains and the fabulous pink light in the water and the sky.
mursaloglu (8682) 2007-03-16 6:55
Extremly eyecatching this photo gves an exemple of the this nord country with the icebergs on the sea. The colors of the houses is very important point in the picture. ihsan

Ciao Attila!
Cricri (115557) 2007-03-16 8:14

parbo (11092) 2007-03-16 14:20
It’s absolutely good idea adding whole shore with new post and this one is really different from your earlier post. I like wonderful colored houses but here… The reflection at 01:00 AM! It must be polar lights that available at this time. Reflections of dark mountains on spectacular colored surface with ice blocks are magnificent. Congratulations.
leo61 (0) 2007-03-16 15:21

Wooow ! Amazing colours . Must be very uplifting for the people who live there surrounded by darkness all winter .
Great shot !
Well worth waiting for !
All the best to you .
john_c (24666) 2007-03-18 11:18
What an amazing spot; I can see how difficult it would be to fall asleep when this scene unfolded. Here the incredible pink light is reflected on the sea and the image is almost surreal. The exposure level seems just right with good clarity of detail on all of the buildings. Your scan retained most of the quality here. Well captured.
paura (47186) 2007-03-18 12:19
Amazin landscape here. Interesting the house´s color range against the vivid ice white. Very well done, friend.
syd1946 (18663) 2007-03-18 13:29

sabyasachi1212 (19779) 2007-03-18 14:56
I have heard so much of the Arctic light during summers, Thanks for showing me what it finally looks like. One of the finest POVs one can imagine with the bright coloured houses and the floating icebergs. Not only a good photo but a great education as well.
With Greetings from India
josepmarin (58325) 2007-03-18 15:17
A gorgeous image, as the previous one, but without fog and with the mountains in background that give a good depth to the picture.
The landscape is very agreeable and beautiful, the colors of the houses compose a great color and the pink tones of the sky and the water are fantastic.
A very nice shot, and scanned very well, also.
papagolf21 (95497) 2007-03-18 15:34
Bonsoir, mon ami Attila,

Excellent sharpness and depth my friend !
TFS and have a nice week.
jhm (148742) 2007-03-19 9:32
Again a wonderful picture almost the same at your other picture but, I looked and looked at it again to get whether this is a real or a toy town. Incredible to read that this is real! Wonderful colours and an exactly effective POV. It is a perfect decision to get the sea into the frame, with its arctic formations floating. Excellent sharpness and arrangement of contrast. Thanks for sharing.
Have a nice week,
Fis2 (93833) 2007-03-19 11:12
Next paint photo. Fantastic colors. Wonderful place. I like the frame and light. Very impressive picture. Well done.

Henryk_Bilor (20799) 2007-03-19 13:21
Excellent capture of the ices behind the houses. Beautiful composition and colours. Amazing view.
Tue (32534) 2007-03-19 15:52
It must be so impressive when it's not getting dark during the night. Another beautiful view over this colourful town, now with also a gorgeous colour in the sky and water. The icebergs are great too. Very well captured and thanks for sharing!
stego (24132) 2007-03-19 19:27
Maybe a slight bit of the Legoland mood was lost, but that is largely compensated here for the magic of that light, visible both on the sky and on the water. Amazing! Excellent work!
cunejo200 (7281) 2007-03-19 20:33
Hi Attila, This is breathtaking. Sweet lighting, gorgeous colors and sharpness is quite good. Best regards. Danilo
MIG13 (0) 2007-03-19 22:53
Wow! A so different landscape, Attila, far from the african colours! The iceblocks are a must! Great colours (specially in the sky) and sharpness (so good for a scanned image). Well done! TFS! Regards! Miguel.
prezntime (3946) 2007-03-19 23:28
Man, those are incredible colors...what type of film were you using? I like the POV...the vantage point is great to capture the heart of this small village. It looks as though I could sit on that same hill from which you took this shot, and rest all day long. The exposure is fantastic here, the shot is glowing.
ramesh_lalwani (3211) 2007-03-20 3:39
Lovely artctic night sky.Colrful houses and ice look beautiful.TFS
Angshu (56748) 2007-03-20 4:03
Thanks for posting this shot, because it's a real pleasure to watch. Having seen the place in daylight, the pink hue of the sky does gives this a totally different perspective. Not only the sky, but the hue of the midnight sun on the houses are special. Simply superb!
vincz (19113) 2007-03-20 4:49
Again very beautiful. The pink on the sea is just incredible. The assemblage of colourful houses in the foreground and white icebergs in the background is fantastic. great job!
t0mmm1 (5440) 2007-03-20 17:17
oh, tu vai troppo veloce per me!
axiotea (21651) 2007-03-22 11:50
A well composed image with fascinating view, lighting, colors and contrasts. I can't stop myself to look at it, so it goes to my theme 'more fav.pictures'.
inuit66 (663) 2007-03-22 18:08
Hi Attila. Wonderful shot. I know exactly how you must have felt studying this view changing hour by hour, it's just fantastic. The low light underlines the fine colors of the wooden houses that are placed like totally out of order. The pitoresque town is a great foreground to the silent scenary of nature with ice and water and mountains. All in all it's a really good composition. I'm not so sure about the framing, maybe an all simple black frame? Anyways, beautiful photo. TFS amd greetings Jens :-)
Scharan (14144) 2007-03-28 0:12
Maravilha de foto Attila!

Vato_Law (12720) 2007-04-07 17:04
3 horizontal layers composing a beautiful photo, the town and its colourful buildings, the line of icebergs floating over the sea and then the mountains behind.
The light of the photo is great and creates a very calm atmosphere.
Budapestman (82620) 2007-04-08 9:28
ahmetgedikli (25593) 2007-04-08 15:03

happy easterto you.
pablominto (53746) 2007-04-24 3:39
Interesting pointof view on Narsaq, and the arctic light is well captured!
I like the classic composition with the traditional three layers, inclusion of the drifting ice adds to autencity...
Strong colours and good details!
manada (6239) 2007-04-24 9:27
vagabondtravels (6511) 2007-05-03 19:22
The artic light is amazing. So soft and warm. The housee providesome great color and the ice in the bg really makes the image. Great capture from this little village. A place I would love to visit. A beatufiul scene you have set here.
noborders (1010) 2007-05-07 7:23
Absolutely splendid ! Not tempted to go to colder climates, but was always wondering about the "midnight sun", and this photo is very inspiring.
balatrek (7455) 2007-06-16 10:51
Impressive place, with this composition we can understand better the place where this city is located, is interesting to observe the contrast of the houses with the landscape frozen of background, good illumination and colours impressive. Good work and thanks to share.
edytungkal (4551) 2007-06-19 22:29
Just say it 'wonderful'....
You have captured it so well, everything looks great, colour, softness...are well
Another great Attila, tfs.
greetings from jkt
ekinokswest (2994) 2007-06-24 17:20
this shot has really fancied me. the color of the sky appears just as the same on the water , which is a very rare possibility. also the typical danish housing is shown . what you did best was to keep half of the image by land and other remaining part with water
Bruno40 (6658) 2007-06-25 11:27
Really amazing photo, fantastic feeling brought by your photo.
Ver good scanning work.
banyanman (7789) 2007-08-06 6:38
Hi Attila. Ricardo Lopes told me to see this shot. The after-midnight light is beautiful and I like the way it picks up the white facades on the buildings. You found the perfect POV for this composition. Greenland is such a photogenic place. Cheers . . . David
Jakab (3867) 2007-08-07 3:55
Jó gondolat volt párban megmutatni a képet. Csuda, hogy egy napon belül mennyire más tud lenni ugyanaz a hely, persze továbbra is marad meseszerű. Egészen másnak látszik például a jég a rózsaszín vízen (olyan, mintha véletlenül szórta volna oda valaki), mint a másik képen, ahol a ködös tenger természetes kelléke. Jó látni mindkettőt, tágítja a képzeletet.
MarieAnge (524) 2007-08-07 15:36
Really amazing colors... Thank you !
rbcy1974 (20758) 2007-09-04 13:19
Really wonderdul composition
excellent contrast between te backgrond and the foreground
really nicely managed colours and light
cdmonson (4948) 2008-09-19 8:34
What a beautiful picture of a beautiful place. That faint light is fantastic, and the pink sky reflected on the water and the ice--fabulous. Thanks for sharing.
fadingstar78 (420) 2009-11-21 3:39
Very simple yet stunning picture. It's all about the contrast between pink light and the white of the ice.
quovadis (1381) 2015-10-05 7:38
this is truly an amazing image of the north, a resemblance of Copenhagen in the late XIX century, just the night time is a bit awkward...eh. Yes, the world offers such a great diversity in terms of time zone allocation and natural resource. Well done and presented, thanks for showing.
