Photographer’s Note

Or: The Bugs are Back.. After several months without any bugs to photograph, anything will do, even though the really interesting species aren't back yet (did see a tattered butterfly the other day, though).
This photo is from the pussy willow I photographed back in late January, see this.
The fluffy white tufts have now grown to some 3 cm long and have developed yellow stamens. The tiny flies - less than 5 mm long - are busy helping Mother Nature by distributing the pollen from one tree to the next.
Sorry I couldn't get all the flies within DOF range, not even at F-16.
Treatment: Small crop, contrast +10, brightness +5, saturation +10, USM and resize.
