Very sharp and detailed picture Asger - perhaps one of the best bee macros I have seen on TE. It looks very much like a Bombus terrestris in Danish jordhumle - I don't know the English name. I wonder what the "pearls" under the wing is - it does not look like pollen - could it be eggs??

It's a pity you can't see the eye, but apart from that it's a great capture. I've seen brumblebees this spring, but they haven't stayed around long enough to pose for a portrait yet. This macro is very sharp with good DOF. I wonder whether the brownish cluster on his side are mites?

Very fine capture of this brumblebee - lots of fine details -but ok - not the head - thanks for sharing Asger - good to see your back in posting :-)

A very good sharp picture .The very heavy load of mites this bee is carrying do not bode well for its future though.
