Photographer’s Note
Some of the very early bushes to bud and bloom are the ribis and the forsythia - red and yellow. The forsythia aren't so far advanced yet, but the ribis bushes are starting to show their lovely red buds. The buds start out like these, and then move on to become progressively less red and more green, as they approach the stage of unfurling. Some of the bushes already have fairly green buds, but I like these red ones the better ;-)
Treatment: Slight crop, contrast +10, saturation +10, USM and resize.

Very nice shot Bente, good DOF isolating the nice colourful buds from the background. Works well. The only suggestion I'd make is to crop the big one on the right as that one is a little out of focus.

Bon cadrage et bonne mise au point.
Ce fond flou fait bien resortir les bourgeons.
Bien vu et merci pour la note explicative qui est très intéressante.

Definatley pointing the way to spring the sun is highlighting them very well, by now they must be well on the way to being open.

Great work Bente - I will take on closer look on my own forsythia. Good colours, sharpness and DOF.

Nice one Bente with great colours and wonderful blurred background. Though I have to agree with Nina - the bud to the right should be cropped out and then may be rotate the rest 90 digres to the right. Beside that it is a very nice picture.
