Photographer’s Note
A couple of white mallards, Anas platyrhynchos. If you're wondering how I can tell that it's a pair, look at the tails. The female - in front - doesn't have the two little curls above the tail that the male has.
As Jeppe stated not so very long ago, these white mallards are pretty rare, and it's the first time I've seen them in our local area. Fortunately, they weren't shy and stayed within shooting distance for quite a while, allowing me to take a number of photos.
Treatment: Crop, Contrast +10, saturation +10, USM and resize.
-----------
Clarification: These are not rare as kept (domestic) birds in Denmark, but these two are free. They live with a bunch of ordinary mallards on the Brabrand Lake.

I didn't know the white mallard was rare in Denmark. I actually thought that they were animals keept in enclosures that had gotten loose, but I've just learned something new here. I think the look on the ducks is a bit strange, they look a bit to smooth for me, perhaps it is just me that has a strange monitor ;o).
Best regards Sasss

Bon cadrage et jolis reflets.
Merci pour l'information car justement vendredi j'ai photographié un canard mallard mâle à Neuchâtel et je me posais la question sur la race et maintenant j'ai la réponse.

I like the contrast between these fine white mallards and the deep blue water, as well as their reflections on it. Today I learned how to identify the male and female ones of the kind - thank's to your notes, Bente!

What a wonderful shot Bente. The mallards looks great in this very fine and strong coloursetting - even with a top reflection. Very well done.
