Photographer’s Note
Subway Pyramid
Today I post something different again: some modern architecture from Frederiksberg, an indipendent municipality in the middle of Copenhagen.
This is a little glass pyramid, that is a characteristic mark for the new subway system in Copenhagen, Metroen. It is seen from the station below, looking up towards the pyramid and the sky. The day I took this picture, the pyramid was partly covered by snow.
The Copenhagen Metro System opened in 2002. It has two lines, M1 from Vanløse to Vestamager and M2 from Vanløse to Lergravsparken with totally 17 stations (9 of these are underground stations, that have those pyramids). Next year M2 will be extended to Kastrup Lufthavn/Copenhagen Airport.
The Metro trains are driverless, they are run by a computer system. Their top speed is 80km/h, but the average speed is 40km/h. The Metro carries about 120,000 passengers a day.
As said, this picture was taken at Frederiksberg Station.
Hope you like this piece of modern architecture!

Hi Lars, I see that someone wrote "2006" on the snow there. Good view from the cave through the snow to see the blue sky. Nice capture of the abstract style of architecture with the lines and the curves. A well seen and well taken picture.

Beautiful shot for a strange and modern piece of architecture.
The perspective it gives is really attractive.
And the colours too.
Sorry, I have finished my points for today, otherwise I'd give you 2 points immediatly!!

Hi Lars
A great shot here, and one that has a good graphic and abstract nature. The framing is neat and symmetrical and the exposure and colour are great. A good, high impact shot. Well done.

Hallo Lars,
Heerlijke foto. Ik hoop dat ook de meer behoudende TE-er er waardering voor kan opbrengen.

Hi Lars. Well this is something a little different. I do like the lines going about in an orderly fashion. The symmetry is also good. Well seen Lars.

Hej Lars,
I love it! At first it remind me the Louvre pyramid... Of course this is completely in another scale, but the shot is very original and very well taken. I like the angle from down-up and the snow over the glass, with some nice blue sky behind. Nice details of architecture (I'll see if I can use it in one of my buildings, eh, eh). We can even see some writen things in the snow...
Very well done!
Thanks a lot,
Hilsner,
Ricardo

Bonjour mon ami Lars,

Hello Lars. It's an unusual shot but you have composed it well. The lines of the pyramid are nicely balanced and lead the eye to the central point. I like the symmetry and also the slight non-symmetry caused by the lights(?) and the snow.

Hi Lars
some people might find the rigid geometry of lines and graphism in your photos as a bit too harsh ... but it is this very thing that I like about your photos ... geometrically your photos are very well balanced and this photo is one such example
good work man .... thanks for sharing this one
cheers ..... sarju

Hoi Lars,
Door de sneeuw op het glas krijgen wij een diverse doorkijk met een deel van de blauwe hemel, ook de details van de constructie zijn duidelijk te zien, de natuur heeft hier ald kunstenaar gepeeld.

Hi Lars - very interesting graphics, the mix of snow and sky is confusing at first, gives the impression of being clouds, really a clever shot with good geometry.

Hi Lars, interesting view point with the partial blue sky visible. Love to see those writing on the surface.

Hi Lars,
Here I thought that the "snow" was part of the artwork until I read your note! Amazing lines and graphics for the eye to follow. Your framing and cropping are superb, and the clarity of detail is just right. Well seen and captured, Lars.

Återigen syns det att du och din far har lite av samma intresse. En mycket intressant bild inifrån en snötäckt glaspyramid. Väl sett och som vanligt snyggt fångat
Ett stycke gott arbete

Indeed a different one, Lars, although also good...; it has a very strong graphical impact, at least it had to my eyes. Good work, well done!

Unexpected for a subway station : so blue, so snowy, so lightful ! I like this originality and especially with such an interesting realisation.

Hi Lars ,
You have shown great consideration to get the most stimulating viewpoint with the radiating lines well positioned for a good visual impact. The writing helped to identify a point in time making this shot unique. Well done!! Have a great day ahead.

Interesting architectural view again. But I think that what I like best is the snow effect on the glass panels, providing the cloud effect on the side and of course with the writing on the background.
All the best,
Emmanuel
