Subway Pyramid

Today I post something different again: some modern architecture from Frederiksberg, an indipendent municipality in the middle of Copenhagen.
This is a little glass pyramid, that is a characteristic mark for the new subway system in Copenhagen, Metroen. It is seen from the station below, looking up towards the pyramid and the sky. The day I took this picture, the pyramid was partly covered by snow.

The Copenhagen Metro System opened in 2002. It has two lines, M1 from Vanløse to Vestamager and M2 from Vanløse to Lergravsparken with totally 17 stations (9 of these are underground stations, that have those pyramids). Next year M2 will be extended to Kastrup Lufthavn/Copenhagen Airport.
The Metro trains are driverless, they are run by a computer system. Their top speed is 80km/h, but the average speed is 40km/h. The Metro carries about 120,000 passengers a day.
As said, this picture was taken at Frederiksberg Station.

Hope you like this piece of modern architecture!
