B/W/R - project Photo

Photographer’s Note

My life have change radical, after over 2 years illness. We vere forced out in selling our house.

We have a good life today, near the warter in a old house from 1894, and have made some radical change in the house.
I do things today I enjoy to do, musik - foto - computer and still change my way of life.

Now to the picture, a part of the house I have change to use as multirum, homebio - fotostudio and some small gallery fore my own picture.
The wall in this room is black, and I have choicen 10 - 12 picture that shall hange on the walls. Picture in 30x40cm and some in 60x80cm.

The picture have some small part of nature red, and the rest I will have in B/W. This is one of my picture, and the workshop photo, show a small part of my room.

Hello Kaj, nice balance between the BW and the color portions, I think the judgement you made with the coloring of the sails was excellent. For some reason though, the white pole on the lefthand side and the concrete one in front, is a bit distracting to me and takes away from the focus on the beautiful ship.

Bonjour Kaj,
j'aime la façon dont tu as post traité cette photo.
le bateau ressort vraiment avec ses voiles rouges, mais comme je l'ai lu dans les critiques, le poteau blanc à gauche distrait un peu le regard.
Original et très personnel.

Excellente compo! J'en ai une dans le meme style! Effectivement domage pour le poteau blanc a gauche, je l'aurrais recadré pour centré le bateau un peu plus!

Hej Kaj...

Spændende eksperiment du her har kastet dig ud i... Jeg kan rigtig godt lide virkningen af sort/hvid og rød, men måske ville jeg undlade de røde striber på pælen i ventre side... De stjæler focus fra dit flotte skib...
Alt i alt et rigtig vellykket foto og en god personlig kommentar til billedet...

this is realy interesting photo. I like the idea to make the photo bw and to leave only the red color. Looks interesting.

I also use bw and color sometimes to emphasize the main object.

Jeg liker godt dette bilde med den flotte skute i det maritime miljø. God plassering av skuten og bruk av detaljer fra miljøet. Den lille stolpen til venstre er en morsom 'add on'. Etterarbeidet med delvis bruk av sort hvit er godt gjennomført. Godt arbeide!
Ellers ser jeg på din ws at du har bygget deg et flott rom for film mm - ser trivelig ut.
Ser også du har hatt ditt å slite med på det personlige plan. Dessverre lever vi en tid hvor alfor mange kommer i situasjoner som ikke er ønsket, ofte kun med bakgrunn i arbeidslivet. Selv er jeg noen få år eldre enn deg, men opplevde for 5 år siden å måtte slutte i mitt arbeide som daglig leder i et datterselskap av et stort europeisk selskap som ønsket å gå fra nasjonale organissasjoner til ett nordisk hk for vår del av verden - så godt å slike tilfelle å kunne ta opp igjen sin interesse for fotografi og andre interesser så overgangen til en 'førstidspensjonering' kan håndteres uten for store problem.

An excellent photo I would be pleased to have on a wall. Personally, I like the bollard at the bottom because it adds to the foreground giving it more substance without being too distracting. Not sure about the red and white striped one at the left though...

I think I seeen this boat before, or something like it. Interesting PP with jus tthered unsatruated. I''ve just prepared something similar for tomorrow, but a very differnt scene.

Bonjour kaj,
Belle réussite et excellente idée cette façon de traité cette photo N&B, en ne gardant que la voile en couleur. J'ai lu que le poteau blanc genait, mais il a aussi été gardé en rouge pour un rappel.

hi kaj living in a fishing port i am a sucker for pictures of boats i like this one a lot how the only colour is in the sails my only comment is i would have cropped out the white post on the left
