Summer is over

And today, something completely different. :-)
This shot was taken about a month ago on the beach near our summer cottage in Strøby Ladeplads, near the city of Køge, about 50km south of Copenhagen. This sunset only marks the end of that day, the 21st of August, but by uploading this picture today, it also marks the end of the summer here in Denmark.

In the last month the weather has been quite nice here in Copenhagen and it ended last weekend with a real "Indian Summer", but I'm afraid the real summer is over now, so we only can hope for some sunny autumndays in the next weeks.

The water you can see here is the Køge Bugt (Køge Bay), the land is the island Sjælland (Zealand). I took the picture from a pier.

Lovely sunset with reflections; the colours are beautiful. Well done. We've had an Indian summer in the UK too (compensation for the real one being so bad), but storms are forcast tonight :o(

Very nice feeling here, and the title fits well.
Still, being a bit rude, I'd say that this could be the TE standard sunset. Composed following well known rules without any extra ingredients.

Beautiful sunset Lars,
even if it's an overexposed thema, the magic of the sunlight is always a greath show!
The gold in contrast with the dark vegetation make a nice graphical effect, very well done!
...and yes, the summer is gone also here!

De zon heeft al voor vele mooie foto's gezorgd, zoals deze hier, de weerspiegeling laat een mooi spoor achter op het water, in combinatie met de donkere gedeelten en de kleuren heeft u een mooie foto gemaakt.

Wow Lars! I don't remember ever seeing you do a shot like this. Such nice and warm colors with that breathtaking reflection of the sun. I see some noise but it's so miniscule it's not even worth worrying about. Very nice one Lars!!

classique mais très chaleureux.
Cela ne fait pas très 'Danemark', comme quoi les couchers de soleis peuvent être délicieux ailleurs que sous les tropiques.
Un tout petit manque de netteté dans les contours.

Hi Lars,
A well composed shot with good handling of the exposure. The shadows and silhouettes contrast so well with the sun and its reflection in the water. The distant land is bathed in a surreal light and shadow. Very well captured, Lars.

Hoi Lars,
Leuke foto, erg mooie warme kleuren. Ook de overloop van kleur naar kleur in het wat is mooi. Jammer dat de zomer voorbij is. Vandaag was de eerste dag dat ik mijn verwarming heb aangedaan, omdat het binnen zo koud was.

Hej Lars, prachtige zonsondergang met heerlijk felle contrasten. Hierdoor is het ook grafisch zeer interessant geworden. De milde en gladde texturen van het water geven een passend zacht accent. Heel mooi werk!

Nice summer shot - but you where too early about the end of the indian summer Lars - today was pleasant and warm too.

Je suggère de fixer l'horizon soit au 1/3 supérieur pour donner de l'importance à l'avant-plan.
Soit de fixer l'horizon au 1/3 inférieur pour donner de l'importance au ciel. C'est selon votre choix.

An appreciable composition with a beautiful luminosity of end of day.
I suggest fixing the horizon in the 1/3 superior to give importance to the foreground. Or fixing the horizon at the 1/3 inferior to give importance to the sky. It is according to your choice.

Your note and this image connected me to an Indian sunset, which is a very pleasant mood for the start of this day. A beautiful painting in warm orange tones, with such a peaceful atmosphere. Good placement of the sillouettes, bettween the sun and its attractive reflections on the water surface.

Very nice (and long) reflection of the sun of the sea. My main critic will be about the sharpness, not the best one in my opinion.
