Photographer’s Note
This picture was taken with a Russian SLR camera (I think the name was Zenith), which I owned at that time. When I saw this nice couple having a "meeting" at my backdoor, of course did I hurry to get the Macro for the camera, but I didn't had to - they where sitting there the whole day.
Unfortunately have I lost the original photo and had to scan this bad photocopy (A4 poster) - I still remember the brown background as the colour I painted the Door. So the colour of the two "Lime Hawk-Moths" Mimas tiliae (In Danish: Lindesværmere) must be true, after all these years.
May be I should add - they where relative big - 7 cm of wingspan.
Please note: the picture is turned 90 deg clockwise.

This is a great example of how a photographer can take a most casual subject and create a beautiful photo. Very good timing and composition.
Well done Jeppe!

Flot fangst! Selv om billedet, som du selv er inde på, godt kan se lidt "mølædt" ud, så ses det også, at den oprindelige skarphed og DOF må have været i orden. Har tidens tand gnavet lidt i farverne også, eller havde de denne farve?

I thought I was looking at a reflection shot! Good moment you caught here. As what Ken said, it is still a great shot...something that you probably would capture just once in your life. Bravo!

It is still a good photo no matter what you say. The camouflage design is uncanny ... so this is where the military got the patterns of their uniforms, eh? For this biological information alone, the picture is worth more than a thousand words.
Kudos to joseelias - his workshop rocks! (BTW, I also owned a Russian SLR camera a long time ago, they were trying to introduce products in the Philippine market so it was cheap, it was a good camera too, but someone swiped it during one of my travels :-( )

I like this photo despite the scanning problems. Details are nice and the insects very intersting.
Made a WS for you. Hope you'll like it.
