Photographer’s Note
Photo taken in the center of Thorshavn - the capital of Faroe Islands during Saint Olav's Day - Faroese national festival/holiday.
I was very surpsised to see how important the Olavsoka is for Faroese! The capital was full of celebrating, singing, dancing... and drinking people. Huge majority was dressed nationally including even small babies and youth.
I took the shot during rain - an usual circumstance in Faroes :) Please notice that no-one use umbrellas - due to strong winds it's completly impractical there. What's more interesting, the national sheep-wool clothing is waterproof due to quite unusual content od lanoline. The boy in the photo wears such sweater.
