Photographer’s Note

This is Gudensø, a lake in the Jyske Søhøjland (high lake land of Jutland), one of the most favourite place in Denmark for campists. I saw it yesterday, when I was walking on the path Århus-Silkeborg. One only has to follow these signs to follow the paths...

Gudensø is very close to Mossø, the biggest lake of Denmark. It used to be an import religieus place, because between those lake, there was builded a monestery in the 12th century, which was called Øm Kloster. Look here for a picture of a reconstruction. In the middle age, the inhabitants of the monestry also dug a canal between this Gudensø and Mossø.

Today, there are only some ruines left, but the canal still exists. The name Gudensø means also someting like God's lake.

About the photo: cropped, increased light and contrasts, sharpened and decreased the red and green tones a bit. I filtered it in Neat Image and soften also some noice pixel for pixel in Microsoft Photo Editor.

It is still not very sharp, but it became noicy when I wanted to sharp it more. But it looks okay now, because the soft shapes emphasize the dreamy atmosphere, I think. The photo is taken on automatic.
