Photographer’s Note
I guess one day someone had to do this: Presenting a photo of absoloute nothing. I have just come back from a minicruise on the new super ferry between Oslo and Kiel in Germany. And one afternoon looking out of the cabin there was nothing out there, except a line of light dividing the ocean and the sky. Even with nothing to see I liked the setting of the empty sea.
What do you think? - of absoloute nothing!

Very nice empty photo of Denmark. I like the dark blue tones, the texture and the soft shapes of the sky.
It gives a feeling of freedom. Very nice work!

hi jack, actually it is a photo of something - a photo of endless beauty of our planet, a photo of tanquility and a steady mood, a photo of unusual dark colours, and a photo of a an immense sky;
this is a photo of plenty;
have a nice afternoon, j.

Well for a photo of absolutely nothing it came out pretty darn good, Jack. I think the glow of light where the low-positioned horizon meets the sky does a lot for this one, as well as the atmospheric low light and the nuances of dark tones in the sky. A nice and tranquil one.

Well done nothing, Jack. In fact, it's very creative nothing in well balanced composition. And of course, making something from nothing is much more difficult than making nothing from something. Thanks for sharing.

Surely a fine shot of this emptyness - I like the fine beam of light to divide sky and sea - a fine shot to relax and remember a fine trip on the sea - thanks Jack - please come back ;-)

How peaceful! The colors of this view of nothing are superb. The sliver of light on the horizon is very well caught in this shot. Congratulations.

Hi Jack, there isn't such thing as nothing. Even a "empty" sky or ocean is full of details and life. Somehow that tiny orange light line gives the impression that something will happen at any moment... a vessel coming in... a dolphin jumping... a whale breathing...
Maybe this is not making any sense, but it's quite clear to me (harder do write though)
Regards,
Mário

I tottaly disagree awith your title (although I like it), Jack. THere is muvh more than noting in this picture. What makes it so special? I guess that the shapes and the colors in the sky, and the wonderful yellow horizon line. Absolute Beauty.

Well there are many kind of nothingness, yours has a peculiar glow. All that horizontal lines washed by glowing lights make up an wonderfull abstract painting.

Jack,
There is nothing like nothing!
Yes - this is really something...
Nice patterns and colours - and I clearly see my Warp 9 duck passing through.

This may be a photo of nothing regarding detail complexity but it’s full of mood and a great atmosphere. I like the kind of melancholic and peaceful feeling of it. Of course the key for the photo is the light strip in the horizon but the placement of the horizon so low, taking advantage of the subtle tones and shapes of the clouds shows a very well thought composition.

Hi Jack!
Er en stund siden jeg har vært og tittet på bildene dine, men nå gjør jeg altså det. Dette var det som "traff" meg mest nå. Nydelig bilde, gir meg ro i sjelen. Fine farger, litt triste, men samtidig glade farger.

Hello Jack.
I came across this photo of "absolute nothing" .
To me it is far more than nothing . I was spellbound by the silvery line between the sea and the sky and the way one single colour in different shades creates such a wonderful and intense mood !!
It is absolutely beautiful !!!
Kindest regards
Dorte.
