Photographer’s Note
This is as low as the sun gets in early July around Ilulissat. Taken at a particularly ice choked portion of the fjord. The small pieces form when a big chunk falls of the sitting ice mass like the one on the horizon. No mosquitoes here, they are on land only (the black part at the upper right horizon). Sky was darkened separately. I must leave TE next week, this is the last Greenland pic until I return.

Great shot I love the long diagonal shadows and the curved icewall which has shielded the sun from being overbearing

A fine mix of very cold water and warm golden sunlight - I like the low position you got this image with and the fine mix of light and shadow - thanks Tan for one more of your fine Greenland images.

Hi Tan,
Yet another splendid photo, I like here your low PoV that magnifies the ice structures, the good quality of photo and detalis for shooting against the sun, and of course your trade mark, the excellent clarity !
Have a nice day,

Wow ! that is a low light :)
I'm really amazed by the stillness of the water. I mean I know it's frozen but I have seen pictures of frozen St Laurent for example that are very dynamic. Here the long shadows, the light sparkling on the ice create a feeling of immobility I find amazing.

Very cool, great light distortion, the shadows give this photo more depth.
Very good.

Quand le soleil joue avec la glace on peut obtenir des effets féériques et magiques. Bien cadré et bien vu !

Wonderful colors. I love the way the way you composed the picture, putting the icebergs into 2nd plan and the light reflecting on the snow. Just wondering how it would have looked with less sun rays. You have lovely gallery of landscape.

I could only imagine how the land looks that high in the globe. when I learnt about the 6 months light and 6 months dark, it is very hard to imagine or visualise. Your picture brought it very clear. Good one. Some day I will go there Tan!
