Photographer’s Note
I spotted this special sunrise on last Sunday - the upper sun was visible long before the real one came up.
Its due to icecrystals in 10 km height which reflects the sunlight - I will update the note later with more information.

Very nice tones.
How did you manage?
Leaving the camera on AWB typically doesn't produce this type of excellent result.
Did you shoot Raw?

Hi Jeppe,
Well framed, high contrast and colors.
The most interesting is as you say a special effect due to meteo, this curiosity is very interesting and I like the composition.

It is a nice experience just to look at this picture. I will not have a chance to look at something like this in my part of the world. Thanks for sharing and a really great shot.

Hi Jeppe - stunning effect you spotted here with the triple sun, and a beautiful composition to show the three balls of light embedded between the tree silhouettes in the waterside setting. Outstanding colors, great shot to lean back and relax.

Well Jeppe you sure beat me here. I was surprised enough with seeing two suns at the same time - so three of them is sure something special

Great spotting and very well taken! The colors are bright and lovely. I really like this picture, as it's original (3 suns) and looks like a painting. I like the fact two birds (ducks?) are just visible in the top. Nice that you didn't crop them out. :)

A very strange event that I have only seen in astronomical books with small examples, but this is a great one, with the three suns. Was it shot near the lake we visited? The very red colour are great, better with the silhoettes of the leaf-less trees. In what part of the picture did you measure the light, or it was just an automatic exposure?
Excellent work. You do live in a very nice part of the world.

Non vous n'êtes pas sur la Terre, vous êtes sur une planète éclairée par deux soleils dans une autre galaxie.
Image très rare à obtenir parce qu'il faut se situer au bon endroit au bon moment.
J'apprécie la composition et le cadrage.
Merci Jeppe.
Not you are not on the Earth, you are on a planet lit by two suns in another galaxy. Image very rare to obtain because it is necessary to be located at the good place in the good moment. I appreciate the composition and framing.
Thank you Jeppe.

As much as I hate seeing only 'Great' smileys with every picture, this one deserves it. I love taking pictures of sunrises and one of these days I may post one of around 60 I took one morning in Sicily last spring.

And another great mirage! Here in the Canadian arctic, the high arctic, there was a case last year or the year before where the sun rose about a week earlier than expected, and then did not rise again until the due date. It was in fact a mirage, the upper sun, that rose that week before! I've also seen our local mountains magnified to enormous heights by this phenomena! Always have your camera with you, right!? Well done
