Photographer’s Note

This picture of the church at Vidareidi was taken from a point just a few metres above sea level. Malinsfjall (the peak behind) is 750m high.

Despite being slightly out of focus, it goes to show the way in which a wide angle can (successfully?) distort your view of the world.

The church contains alter silverware presented by the British government as a thank you for rescuing the crew of a ship that sank locally in 1847. The owner of the Hotel Nord in the village is usually able to arrange access.

Technical details: Sorry, unknown. The negative was scanned to CD when developed.
