Photographer’s Note
This picture of the church at Vidareidi was taken from a point just a few metres above sea level. Malinsfjall (the peak behind) is 750m high.
Despite being slightly out of focus, it goes to show the way in which a wide angle can (successfully?) distort your view of the world.
The church contains alter silverware presented by the British government as a thank you for rescuing the crew of a ship that sank locally in 1847. The owner of the Hotel Nord in the village is usually able to arrange access.
Technical details: Sorry, unknown. The negative was scanned to CD when developed.

However the "slightly out of focus" you mentioned, this is a very, very nice picture. I like the composition and colours, nice landscape and church, well done, Martin.

And yes, The Faroe Islands are technically part of Denmark, so this one can go into my theme group on Danish churches as one of the strangest specimens. I quite like the oversaturated colours and the soft edges.

Very nice photo. Special like the landscape you have shown me here. If this is typical Faroe Island I wish I knew someone there to visit. The colors make everything so clear. Like the white church with green hills and that big mountains. Not shure it it is the lines or the photos, but I think it could be rotated a few degrees to right. Feel that the church and mountain is tiping a little to much to left. All in all a good photo.

It is like a fairytale or a film. Very romantic and mysterious.
I like the strong colors and contrast between light and darnknes. But it 's a shame that the left part of the curch is a little bit unsharp.
My compliments!

Great shot. I like the shades. Not sure if it could have been sharper. But I like it the way it is.

The picture looks a bit unsharpe but a good composition and good coloring of the picture.
