Photographer’s Note
This is a view of the Jelling cemetery. Danish Cemeteries are almost more gardens than cemeteries, as plants out number head stones. Families care for the plots of deceased loved ones, creating miniature gardens in their memory and they also pay the rent, so to speak. When the family no longer pays for the plot, the head stone and remains will eventually be removed and a new "tenant" will be allowed in. Most cemeteries are laid out in the maze like formation seen here - some plots occupied by one "resident," others by whole families of "residents." If you ever visit Denmark, I highly recommend visiting a cemetery since they are so beautiful.

Hi Kate,How unusal and as you say maze like ,i have myself considered photographing cemeteries, headstone can be quite interesting and ornate. Here its the landscaping that stands out.I like how you have composed the image from above with the inclusion of the stone wall in the foreground plus the figures and the use of b&w to bring out the textures.Very good work. Thanks Tom.

Hello Kate.
A well-chosen pov and a well-chosen black and white to represent a cemetery with some special features. The shot is well done, with an interesting note too.
Kind regards.
Bobo.

Hi Kate,
excellent note accompanying this fine image of Jellinge kirkegaard. Your POV works excellently and I also appreciate that you included the persons visiting the graves. A worthwhile contribution in the best spirit of TE. TFS!
Warm regards
Harriet
