Photographer's Note

Kitesurfing is growing fast in Denmark. In the end of the 90's there were only a few hundred kite surfers in this country. Today, the number of kite fans has increased. The natural coastline of 7,400 km is the most coherent and largest nature area in Denmark and a great place for kitesurfing fans. One of the most popular spots in my region is Cathrinesminde. The beautiful recently restored brickworks buildings are very scenically situated by the inlet Flensborg Fjord near Broager in South Jutland. The kite surfers however do not care about tiles and bricks and cultural traces, they love the strong west wind and shallow water that give perfect flat water conditions making it the ideal place for the beginner.
By the way: in 2012, wind power produced 30% of all electricity of Denmark. The country holds the largest wind turbine industry on Planet Earth. So, it's time to pack your kite and enjoy the power of Denmark!
