Photographer’s Note
This is actually my first real macrowork ever. I wnt to a forrest near my parents place and actually wanted to photograph birds, but there where no birds there at all. Then I saw this little drop and thought that it might could be fun to shot. And through the lens I saw the reflection and then found it interesting. I used a converter to go to real macro, the Micro-Nikkor AI-s 55 mm f/2.8 doesn't allow 1:1 macro only 1:2. But I'm planning to do this shot again this time with extensiontubes so a bigger enlagement can be achieved and then work on focus in the drop too.

Very fine work Thomas - You captured that water drop excellent - however I cant help wondering if this should be a macro shot if you wanted the trees to be in focus - Never mind I like it - congratulation with your first macro shot.

This is excellent for a first macro attempt. The way you have captured the light above the trees through the drop is very effective. Well done. I look forward to the next macro work - this is a novel way of presenting landscape.

Great first macro Thomas even that I have to agree with you about the focusing. Every new start has its difficulties – that’s what makes life going on. Anyway it is a great shot indeed and just keep trying – I look forward to your improvements.

A brilliant macro work, Thomas, and excellent processing. I like the 180 degrees rotation of the reflection. Very well done.

reverse your 55mm lens and then see, youll get 1:1 macro. a 50 mm 1.4 or 1.8 will be even better as there will be more light in its sweet point of aperature.
