Photographer’s Note
Still from the same trip as the last two, this was one of the first animals I tried shooting that day, as Bente said it, this one sits quite still, good practice target :o) It was sitting still for a while, and then it began catching flies in the air, some sort of hunting spider I guess. If you look closely you can see that it is eating a little black fly - YUM!

mmmhh, yummy!! I hope you could save the fly and keep it for our next TE summer brunch. Really looks delicious. Lovely spider. I love these tender, sensitive and of course beautiful insects.

Aha Line, you are really enjoying your macro photography I see. Really good, the way you've caught this guy eating that fly. You've also captured his patterns well. Nice work.

I can see Bente is rubbing off on you, Yum Yum for a fly? Or do you mean for the spider? This is great. Now, for another sugestion. Carry ia small bottle of mist spray with you, just water in an empty window cleaning bottle etc. When you encounters such scenes, give it a quick spray, the spider is not iendangered, and you have instant dew on the leaves, web or whatever, adding magic to your picture. This only work with those that wont fly off.

You really had a trip in our area I can see. This is a very nice picture of a Teragnatha extensa - as far as I can see (in Danish called Stavedderkop). Nice sharp and he is sucing his lunch - well done. I can agree with Callie's advise, I have tried it some times too. Just remember to get a few shots before you spray the water on the web - the spider might run away before you can get your hands back on the camera.

Well this makes 3 out of 3 good macro`s. the only thing I might of done ,would be to use burn tool on the legs at a low level to bring out all the hairs on her legs, it will also make them look more in focus where they just drop out of the DOF.
still it is a very good image just nit picking.

Like Robert said, 3 out of 3 good ones. Once again I think you got all the DOF possible out of the F-8 which is max. for the Olympus.
Now you just have to come back and prove that it wasn't beginners luck - maybe with better shoes next time ;-))

Nice job Line,
The spider is well taken, with the composition I miss something, differcult to tell you what. Whatever I say, I don't say that it's bad . No, you did a good job.

As in a book, the life of the insects, a very good image rich in details, also likes the colors, beautiful work.
