The church by the shores of the Atlantic
This little place on the Faroe Islands out there in the North Atlantic is called Kirkjebour. A personal and 'wild' transaction of the name (the language is close to old Norwegian) could mean: "The place where you find a church.."
In fact you find 2. This old stone church from around 1300, while there also is ruins of a small older catholic church close by.
Again the typical Faroe setting. Some few houses and farms, maybe population of 20-30 people in the tiny village - still of course their own church. This one, as I understand it, is still in use.. To be found only some 20 minutes outside the small capital of the islands: Torshavn.
oh. yes.. regard the little tree there - a rare thing thing to see on these islands with as good as none trees anywhere..

Hi Jack
Have a nice weekend for you

Hello Jack,

Hello Jack,
I can feel the bone chilling cold (maybe no yet, but it's going to visit this site). What rough conditions the old Vikings, then their descendants put up with! You've captured a timeless scene, and the succinct but informative note gives it historic dimensions.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Bonjour Jack,
Daniel.

Hi Jack, splendid view of the houses. I like so much these roofs with the grass. Nice small bird on the chemin. The sea looks rather gloomy but the houses have nice red elements. fantastic atmosphere. Regards

Hello Jack

I have a fondness for church photos and this one is near perfect. I love the way you have left it in context as a member of the community, rather than a stand alone feature. great POV and lighting. The color is also superb.
