A place to live: The Faroe Islands
Tjornuvik - a small village with a population around 30. At the Faroe Islands out in the North Atlantic.

On all the 18 islands there is only some 50000 living here. Self governed it's a joke that this islands pop up under Denmark - but of course thats politics....

Looking for something exotic up north I can for sure recommend The Faroe Islands.

... at least they have their own national soccer team, as i heared and not unsuccessful, as I am told by Austrian friends...

A very interesting and impressive landscape, the high fog enhances the particular atmosphere. Great shot!

What a place to live! A fascinating picture of this little village clinging to the land, totally exposed to the forces of nature. This picture makes me feel cold and wet right here in my warm city apartment.

This is one of the most impressive landscape photos I've seen so far. This tiny village nestled there at the foot of these steep slopes, the agitated sea, the clouds, the waterfalls - a very near to nature and somehow beautiful symphony. Living there? I can't imagine this - but it's truly worth seeing! Your series about these great islands was a very good advertising ... ;-))

Wahouu ! Tu dis une place ou vivre. Mais il faut aimer l'isolement et de cet endroit et la manière dont ce village est entouré de montagne abruptes !
Y a t'il une route pour accéder à ce village ?? Les hommes ont construits des maisons dans les endroits les plus hostiles possible ! La prise de vue est superbe et magnifiquement informative.

Une destination rêvé pour ceux qui n'aiment pas le soleil ;o))
personnellement j'aimerais assez découvrir ce genre d'endroit, mais que la vie doit être rude en hiver..
une très belle réalisation avec ces trois plans lamer, le brouillard et la montagne, il reste peu e place pour l'homme.
Je m'en vais visiter ton Flickr!!

malgré les cpnditions difficiles, la beauté de cet endroit, qui a des airs d'Islande, ressort parfaitement.
Un POV bien choisi pour montrer l'isolement de ce village dans la verdure qui l'entoure.

Hi Jack,
Impressive place. Bay with quite steeply rising mountain slopes. And low hanging clouds close the view from the top. It's interesting to see horizontal layers of rocks. Without seeing the houses it would be very hard to estimate the scale of this view.

A superb composition with the fog low down on the mountainside and the the village in what is probably the most protected place in the bay, the bay with white foam all around its shores. Also beautiful colors and excellent clarity. TFS and have a nice evening!

Makes me feel like leaving to Faroe Islands immediately.
That's an atmosphere, that's pure nature, that's mystery.

A very interesting and impressive landscape, without seeing the houses it would be very hard to estimate the scale of this village.

O lugar é fantástico de grande beleza natural mas para viver não era para mim :) , parece um campo de futebol este lugar com estas montanhas verdes inclinadas , a vila e linda deve ser um lugar parado no tempo , gostei muito do ponto de visão e do tecto de nuvens ,parabéns!!
