Photographer's Note

A view over Kunoy village on Kunoy island with the Kalsoy Island in the background.Shot taken during one of my bicycle trips.

Some info on Kunoy and Kalsoy from Wikipedia:

Kunoy is an island located in the north-east of the Faroe Islands between Kalsoy and Borðoy (to which it is linked via a causeway). There are two settlements on Kunoy: Kunoy, on the west coast and Haraldssund on the south-east coast. A third settlements, Skarð, was the site of a fishing accident on Christmas Eve, 1913 which killed seven men (all the male population except a 14 year old and a 70 year old). The women decided to move to Haraldssund, and the area is now deserted. The island also has five mountains: Havnartindur (820 m), Middagsfjall (806 m), Kunoyarnakkur (820 m), Ranndalur (703 m) and Urðafjall (817 m).

Kalsoy is an island located in the north-east of the Faroe Islands between Eysturoy and Kunoy. Due to the island's thin shape and road-tunnels it is known as 'the flute'. There are four settlements on Kalsoy, all located on the east coast (the west coast is steep cliff): Húsar, Mikladalur, Syðradalur and Trøllanes. The towns are connected to each other via tunnels, some of which are up to 2 km long. There is a lighthouse at Kallur, the northern-tip of Kalsoy. The island has 13 peaks, the two highest mountains are: Nestindar (787 m) and Botnstindur (743 m).
