Holbæk Harbour

My next upload is from Denmark again, from the city of Holbæk to be precise. It was taken when we were waiting for the ferry to the island of Orø and shows you the harbour of Holbæk.

Holbæk is located in Region Sjælland (Region Zealand) and in the former Amt (province) Vestsjælland, about 60km west of Copenhagen.
The city has about 25.000 inhabitants (but the municipality about 68.000). Holbæk was mentioned for the first time in a letter from Bishop Absalon, the founder of Copenhagen in 1199 as the large farm Holbækgaard. Later on the city developed around Holbæk Slot (Holbæk Castle), that was built in 1236 by King Valdemar Sejr (Valdemar II the Victorious).

The light here was rather difficult to handle. The photo is a stitch of three pictures.

Lars,
Nice composition here showing us the boats moored at the wharf with the town in the background. The lighting and colors are fine with nice sharpness and DOF. The great sky adds a nice touch to the shot.

Hallo Lars,
Weer eentje met het betere plak en knip werk. Deze is weer prachtig met alle goede ingredienten: mooie wolkjes in de lucht, glinsterend water, heerlijk zonnetje en mooie boten en huizen.

Dag Lars,

Een perfecte samenstelling uit drie foto's, zonder dat er maar iets van te merken valt.
Alles blijkt zeer ristig te zijn in de haven, geen verkeer noch andere aktiviteiten.
U ziet Lars dat wachten soms ook zijn nut kan opleveren bij deze een goede foto zowel van kleur als van kwaliteit.

Nice view of the city from the ferryboat. I like a boats alongside a dock. Very good well contrasted colors, excellent sharpness.

Stiching 3 images has allowed you to show lots of wondefful detail. It is not too small to see either which often happens with panos. The shutter speed tells us how bright it was making exposure difficult. I think you did a goodg job. Well done

Light perhaps a bit low, but you have the red roofs and a light blue sky to lighten the picture. The wooden boat on the right is interesting, obviously an old traditonal ship. I wonder what she will look like after repairing.

Olá Lars, lovely panoramic composition. I wonder if you reached the limit of your Large Versions, because this would give a good one. Yes, I can see the harsh light from the right, but the result is excellent and I wouldn't even think of the light if you hadn't mentioned it. The reading of the image is nice, jumping from boat to boat and then from building to building.

A fine panorama of this harbour area, with the orange roofs and facades contrasting well with the blue of sky and water. I like your three part division - the rule of thirds - here, which is right on the money. The rippled water on the right enhances. Well captured.

the Holbæk Harbour looks like a calmly place with all these sailing boats and the houses of the natives to decorate the frame.I think that the light is well handle from you as the pale colours too.This panoramic view is great for the sharpness and the clarity.Well done Lars.
