[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
...A couple of days ago a friend and I visited one of the small island in the “Smålandsfarvand” ( I would translate it "The Waters of Scattered Islands" ).

One of them is Fejoe , a small hilly island, decorated with fruit gardens and plantations, which for ages has a reputation for raising the most excellent of what Danish Fruit Growing can achieve .

There are 11 fruit growers on the island . Most of them grow apples and pears , but plums are also an important yield . Some people find the best plums in the world to come from Fejoe due to the mild climate .

“Fresh Fejoe Fruit” is known for the annual sail in September to Nyhavn , Copenhagen , in order to present and sell the best pears and apples of the year’s harvest – and offering free samples too !

The tradition of sailing from Fejoe to Copenhagen in what is called “pear tubs” , started in the 193o’es where Johannes Jorgensen , the grocer on Fejoe
bought the fruit and sailed to Copenhagen .

The profit from the sale in Nyhavn is donated to the clubs and organisations of Fejoe. So the “Fejbattings” ( thast’s what the inhabitants are called ) unite to create a wonderful place to live and keep the “island spirit” alive.

More photos from this charming island in the workshop :o)

Hello Dorte,
By your description Fejoe sounds like a very inviting place!
The ferry itself is attractive, some years on the back and with a personality...
Good angle of light creates a fine feeling of depth in the frame!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hallo Dorte!
Welcome back ;-) Your picture is something for a landlubber like me. You have had a wonderful light here and an interesting sky - the result is a beautiful picture. One nearly can hear the motor of the ferry ...
Thank you for the affectionate comment. This must be a nice island!
Greetings from sunny and springlike Siegen!

Hej Dorte,
Good to see a new photo from you!
It's a good one of the two ferries, one of them when departing to sail to the island. The light is pleasant and the silky clouds are a nice background. Thanks for sharing!
Venlig hilsen,
Lars

Hello Dorte,
very nice composition, I like the clarity, the two boats in the first plan and the good frame. Very lovely environment good for a stroll around the islands you describe, I like the vivid colours and certainly the sky.
Kind Regards.
Stella

Hi Dorte,
Nice scene with beautiful soft colors. The movement of the water tells us that the ship is moving. That's the begin of a roman : "under the grey sky, she took the ferry to ......"
Greetings
Guy

Hello there, Dorte.
A wonderful shot, with the sunlight and shadow on the boats. And the way the boats face the opposite directions. It's so sharp, too. I like the gentle sky and the sunlight glinting on the water. I read your interesting note, thank you for that. All the best,
Regards,
Andrew
