Photographer’s Note

A couple of days ago I went back to Moen , hoping to see the 2 big slides that occurred in January - and to see the white cliffs in their " summer dress " .
I had hoped to see the 10 kilometer long white coastline from the sea , bur when I arrived at Klintholm Harbour , skipper of the " Discovery " told me it was too windy to go .
Instead I visited the new "Geocenter" where you can get an impression of the formation of Denmark and these beautiful white cliffs , once the bottom of an ocean.
I did see the 2 impressive landslides , and I did take some photos which I will show you in the days to come.
I have put 2 photos in the workshop . One showing what the cliffs looked like when I was there in January , and one which gives you an impression of the
viewpoints and the narrow track on the edge of the cliff .

Between this photo, the two photos in your ws, and the informative note, one gets a good idea of the moods in different seasons of the white cliffs, highly evocative of the white cliffs of Dover, England. With the light that you have captured, the sea looks more like the Caribbean than the Baltic. Beautifully composed, impecably exposed shot! The colors and definition are first rate.

It's quite an interesting photo due to its point of view and the gratuated change in the sea color as the eye narrows the shore. It would be a lot of fun I guess to post it under "Polynesia" and wait for the comments ;-)

Hi Dorte. Even though I have seen a number of shots you took in this area, I still find the colours somewhat unreal. The whiteness of the beach and the pale blue of the sea are very special. By dramatic contrast, you have the rich, darker greens of the coastal vegetation. an amazing place. Regards. Klaudio.

The simplicity of the composition is appealing, and the different hues of blue-green are amazing...
In particular is the the colour of the sea beautiful!

lovely beach scene. The wonderful light and color setting in the sky and the amazing colour of the sea and of the beach creates a delightful palette of colours on the wet sand as well as a subtle way to accentuate the foam of the incoming water.
Very beautiful place and nice capture from you.

They are very interesting these cliffs Dorte and you made a fine photo of the place, even with the little underexposure of the cliff itself. And yes, it is very exciting walking the paths at the top often with lots of warnings of landslides. As said a fine capture here with a good balance between the cliff and the very green sea out there.

Hello again Dorte. At last I can get on the internet for a few hours and days. This one is quite stunning, with the dramatic viewpoint and the colours and shadows. The shades in the water are amazing. Lovely shot.

Unfortunaltely I haven't visited the white cliffs of Møn (yet). They look beautifully and the colour of the sea is also really wonderful. Well captured and thanks for sharing!

Another gorgeous and interesting photo from you of a part of Denmark that I've never seen or heard of. Must go there next year. Great point of view and beautiful changing colours of the sea. Very well done, Dorte.
