Waiting for a new season of tourists the rental boats at the mill pond in Fredriksdael rest upside down. The pond is frozen over and the bleak winter sun tries to spread some warmth on a lovely winters day on Själland.
And there I go again with the Danish red and white. But on these small boats it is a common combination anywhere in the world.

Hi Ebbe, Great reflection. I would have cropped a bit of the bottum I think.

Sometimes I wonder what it is that attracts me to open a thumbnail and take a closer look. Here I think you have very bold composition with the red so strong across the top and less below. I wouldn't think to do this, but it seems to work, although as with previous critique, perhaps a small crop from the bottom? The texture of the ice is well captured, very delicate. Doesn't look strong enough to walk over.

No, no, no need for cropping as it would lose all the charm and story that it tells!
Great one again, Ebbe!
Amazing things one can learn on this site and one of them is that we can have such a beautiful reflection not only from water surface but from ice as well (well, I know, what else is it ice but frozen water!?) ;-D
Besides these reds in the reflection I just love to see them (reds) haloing all over the ice.

A daring composition! Great repetition and strong colours. I would not crop the bottom as it holds the composition well. Thanks.

good repetations with vivid colour contrast.

I like the way you see things,Ebbe,
This is such a basic and so normal every day shot , probably a lot of us see this kind of things every day but the good eye gets it out and crops it in a special frame and sees the beautiful reflections
Congratulations on having that good eye

Ishai is right, Ebbe - you do have a great eye for finding beauty or interest in the everyday, which so many of us overlook. Here you have great repetition, bold and lovely colours, the slight diagonal of the pier which creates interest, nice light on the ice in the foreground. I wouldn't crop - the shot is very nicely balanced as it is.

Great expressive shot, Ebbe. Well seen and captured. The spare use of only a few, but contrasting colours makes it great artwork in my eyes. Thanks for sharing the mood as well as the pic itself.

Well spotted, Ebbe, and nicely captured. The repetitive shapes of the boats laying there and also the blurred reflections of them in the ice gives a good graphic pattern. The colors do a lot for this image; the red and white boats, but also the 'black' ice. Though I'd be tempted to crop off one fifth from the bottom, to not have too much light reflected. That's a matter of taste. Very well done!
