Photographer's Note

Gisi (Mondaychild) gives me an idea to post a toilet interior.
What can I say? WC is a part of human life and this interior makes more positive emotions.

I took this picture in the Radisson hotel in Copenhagen.

wow! My photo inspired you!
Wow! (again) This one´s really great due to many different facts:
1) The urinals in your photo are "designer"-urinals and look therefore rather futuristic.
2) They are standing opposite each other which makes them look like two armies before a battle or two teams before a match of American football.
3) There is the (very realistic - I had to look twice) illusion of a forest in the background. (or is there really a forest?)
4) There are the reflections in the window which look as if the line of urinals would continue outside - or as if there where "ghost-toilets" in the wood!
5) The low POV was very very clever in my opinion.

Well seen! Thanks for posting! I think Laurent (siolaw) has a theme called "Toilets of the world" or something like that. 2 more photos for that :-)

Imagine suddenly a wild animal from the forest jumps or flies into the toilet :)

There is nothing like relieving yourself behind a tree in the fresh air of a forest. If there is no forest at hand, this toilet should do just as well. Clearly this is one of the more original shots I've seen on TE for some time, which by itself merits a smiley.

Hi Serghei,

Now here's something we don't see every day, especially the women!? Who would have ever thought urinals could be used as a photographic subject?? haha As crazy as this is, it actually makes for a polarizing photo...both for its unusual nature and also for the literal fact that the reflections go 'into' the wall. The imagery here is unique, to say the least. I'm not sure whether to laugh or admire its creativity of a relaxing place to take care of business! :) Either way, it'll make you look twice. Thanks for sharing this interesting piece of, shall we say, "art?"

Very nicely-designed restroom. :-) I like the symmetry in your presentation, and the reflection of the urinals, which seem to go on into the distant forest. The lighting creates interesting shadows, too. Toilets can be a great subject. I actually purchased a photography book several years ago entitled "Toilets of the World"!!

it looks really like the toilet was in the middle of the forest.The photo wallpaper appears to us almost 3D.Great idea for an original shot as we do not see toilets everyday on TE,but no wonder you grabed your camera after seeing this scene.It looks eye-catching!

An unusual (almost) outdoor wc. Good symmetry and perspective especıally placiğng the central vertıcals in the centre to let the far left and far right fall where they will. I also like the subtle reflections of the porcelain ın the glass window. Tfs!

a really well chosen POV with the interior of the toilets and the backdrop of them to enhance the whole image as an artistic one.

Haha, Serghei! A funny shot and yet also a really beautifully framed and executed one. You've turned these urinals into a bit of art here with really nice use of the mirror effect from the glass wall behind them, and the strangely direct lighting. Combined with the forest scene, there's a surreal and dreamlike quality to this one.

This reminds me I should post my shot of the men's room atop the New Bridge in Bratislava soon - behind it a wide open window looking out over the western edge of the city and into Austria!

This is a great post, and I have to admit, I sat staring at it for a while in thumbnail to try and figure out what it was. I was looking at the urinals and thinking, no, it couldnt be. Not with that backdrp
