You see the Tivoli Garden building and the sculpture of the famous Danish writer H.C. Andersen. I think, you know his fairy tales too.

of course I know Hans Christian Andersen´s fairytales!
It seems while he is looking at the enlightened window he thinks "why do I have to sit in the cold? I would like to be inside"
The blue car is an eyecatcher as well!

One fairy tale I know: The Little Match Girl.
This must be the statue of H.C.Andersen.

A very nice clear and sharp night shot!
You composed this picture well with the statue of H.C. Andersen looking at the Tivoli-building.
A view of Copenhagen that I have not seen before!
Best regards, Paul

this could have been from a book of modern fairy tales. YOu are presenting a very beautiful hommage to the world's most famous fairy tale teller. The management of the difficult light is outstanding. My compliments!

I have read all his stories and they definietly made my childhood more colorful and beautiful. Thanks for bringing back all the memories. The shot is also very lovely composed with the writer's statue looking at the Tivoli as if for some inspiration. Great lights and color management.
Thanks for sharing

There seems to be fascination with Tivoli, there's a shopping mall in Las Vegas named Tivoli and supposed to resemble the Italian region. This is a good nocturnal shot of this beautiful architecture. Good exposure and good dof with nice details. Well done, tfs.

the light- and colour-management, the composition with the statue in the corner, not taking much space, as FG, and the building in the BG, with the monochrom sky, then inclusion of the cars - well, outstanding!
PS thanks for the nice comment, I feel honoured, hihi
I guess we have some similar, you also go often for details in your very good galery

Ciao e buona serata

your precisely chosen POV makes it looks like we admired the Tivoli building together with Andersen.I like it!Ok.maybe the cars do not suit to fairytales, but the magnificent light you captured creates by all means "fairytale" feeling.Well done!

A true icon, Hans Christian...too bad he has to be out on a cold night! :) I've heard many wonderful things about Tivoli Gardens and hopefully will get the chance to experience it myself some day. I really like the mood of this night time shot, it definitely has a wintery feel about it. A well arranged composition that showcases both subjects in good detail. The exposure has made for the car light trails and adds motion to the scene. Thanks for braving the cold to share this one.

I thought Russian kids grew up on Astrid Lindgren's books :-). Neverteless this is a fine photo with the statue well placed in the foreground and the evening lights shining on the Tivoli building. I like the inclusion of modern cars, which break the old atmosphere, and the long lines of red lights.

I am not sure that now the children still read (or listen to) Andersen fairy tales. They are so sad! I must ask my granddaughter if she knows any story.
Very beautiful night shot, the composition is superb. Even the blue car doesn't disturb the view.
macjake (39207) 2013-02-21 23:47

and it looks like the statue is enjoying the view too.
the little blue car stands out well against the other subjects, excellent evening shot

A perfectly eternally composed shot of Mr. Andersen contemplating his next book. Leonardo once wrote, "A life well-lived is long." Indeed, with immense legacies such people become immortal. We take "horseless carriages" for granted. The statues of past greats sit and watch eternally. I love this shot, including your caption.
Warm regards, Serghei,

I like this night shot! The architecture of the old building, the cars passing in front and the statue that seems to be looking at it. A good night shot, with a good composition and exposure.
