happy New Year, my friends! Today is real beginning of the Snake Year.
I took this tragic scene in Copenhagen. A snake in the European mythology is not the same that we can see in the Far East. If dragons and snakes are symbols of some bad for the west culture, and they are usual heroes in the Chinese, Japanese, Korean etc. stories.

Anyway, I wish you all the best in 2013!

Hi Serhei, All the best in the snake year for you too! Indeed, in Asia the snake is the God of under earth and we see it everywhere. dramatic scene here. I like the patina on the sculpture.

The lion here looks really ferocious, and your depth of field is perfect to make him and the snake the stars of the shot. Beautiful Textures to the statue too. The building in left background makes a great backdrop.

Hi Serghei,

I've seen a a similar sculpture as this in Grenoble, France...so this immediately caught my attention. I like that you chose to get in tight and fill the frame with the details, it gives a nice point of view and understanding of the piece. The exposure has produced some bold color and contrast, which enhances the subject. Wise choice of the vertical format as well. Nicely done. Thanks for posting this one. Have a great week.
