Photographer’s Note
This photo was taken near the place where the Little Mermaid sits, literally 10 minutes before the snowstorm.
Everything was still quiet, and it was sunny. Tourists walked carelessly and slowly, enjoying the cool winter sun.
Concerning the composition of this photo, I still have some doubts, and it took me some time to decide whether to post it. I took several photos of it from different angles (including the one with the column in the very middle), but I chose this one, in the long run...
-----------------------------------------
Info about this memorial was obtained thanks to Vitaly who found it (I had failed to find any info about what it is!)
"The memorial to the naval hero Ivar Huitfeldt and his men was designed by Vilhelm Dahlerup. F.E. Ring was responsible for the statue of Victoria, also known as the Spirit of Fame and Immortality, and for the reliefs , while Carl Brummer undertook the monument’s architectonic design. There were originally plans to have it erected in the small churchyard attached to the naval church, Holmens Kirke, close to the main entrance in Havnegade, but it turned out to be too big.
On 4 October 1710, the ship-of-the-line Dannebrog, which Huitfeldt commanded, was set on fire during an encounter with the Swedes. He gave orders to continue the battle, which only came to an end when the ship blew up. Huitfeldt and 497 crew members were killed.
The anchor, cannon balls and gun barrels were in 1872-75 brought up from the wreck of the Dannebrog on the bottom of Køge Bay. The ship’s anchor is also attached to the plinth."

Hello my dear Elena
It seems a sunny and fine day but ten minutes later it has snowstorm, oh my gods.
I think framework and angle are no problem and color coordination is very comfortable. 4 persons shadow (including you ?) are a little disturbing but it does not matter. But it is unbelievable again storm ten minutes later.
Best regards and thanks for sharing

Hi Elena,
Well to me you've picked a good POV for this shot, the only downside is your shadow. No matter how hard I try to look at the main part of the image my eyes are drawn to the shadow. Ha, so little to complain about though, I like your capture very much, the light is wonderful and the colour rendition looks perfect.
Ten minutes to a white-out, amazing.
Cheers
Peter

Elena,
It is hard to believe that the weather would change so quickly. The lighting and colors are great here with great sharpness and detail. The snow clouds forming in the distance are a sign of change! Your composition is fine with the off center placement of the statue with the inclusion of the path and walkers.

Very nice shot with a well thought through composition. The column is in a good place within the picture and the 2 people provide a nice counterbalance to it. The sky really looks quite interesting with its bright blue color in the foreground and a more overcast appearance in the back.

Hello Elena,
A statue not so famed as the mermaid, this seems to be some Greek or Roman goddess hehehe!
Interesting to see this unknown monument, in a well composed image with fine colour reproduction...

Bonjour Elena
de toute beauté ce parc qui fait face à la mer, le monument est magnifique, tu as bien profité de la luminosité de fin de journée ou les ombres s'allongent.

Zdravstvuy Elena, the Doubting One. Such deliberation, yet inevitably so much accomplishment. Your photos belie the deliberations for they always look spontaneous, fresh and of excellent quality. This one for instance is so spacious, so well lit and detailed. The sun hitting the two walkers is a great counterpoint to the sunlit monument- not in size but the intensity of the light in such a shaded area.Great job Elena. Regards. Klaudio.

Hi Elena!
You captured expectation of snowstorm very good. Bright colours and blue sky create illusion of serenity but clouds are very terrible.
I found description of this memorial and it adds your notes.
"The memorial to the naval hero Ivar Huitfeldt and his men was designed by Vilhelm Dahlerup. F.E. Ring was responsible for the statue of Victoria, also known as the Spirit of Fame and Immortality, and for the reliefs , while Carl Brummer undertook the monument’s architectonic design. dear Elena,
surely the winter weather of north area is very, very changeable.
it needs only a few minutes to change from clear fine state to the snow falling. it is quite similar to that here in Hokkaido.
anyway, as a photo, this statue like angel in the sky looks just a symbol of the storm.
but now a wonderful fine view we can see, and perhaps no one can prospect the sudden changing, it is quite, quite like our life.
thank you,
Akihisa

ciao Elena,
un'ottima composizione con una bellissima inquadratura.
Il sole illumina bene la scena ricca di particolari, con la colonna a dare slancio sullo sfondo di un bel cielo azzurro.

Hi Fanni,
You can really see the clouds building up to something dramatic here and the change into the other photo is quite obvious. A fine and well composed picture, but also a very interesting note. The Danes tried very hard in those days to reclaim Skåne and Halland, but they never managed... It might be interesting for you to know that an older member of the Huitfeldt family, Margareta Huitfeldt, was the owner of a big part of the island of Tjörn (now in Sweden) in the 17th century. My mother´s family descend from this area and she always claimed that this lady was an ancestor or something...
Kind regards
