The Island in the Lake Photo

Photographer’s Note

I actually took a similar shot yesterday ;-), but wasn’t pleased, so I just came home with this.

Not far from Svendborg, on the southern of Fyn, can you find the Manor "Hvidkilde" (White Spring) - I'm planning to post a series of photos from this place, be course the nature quite beautiful and there’s a lot of history as well. The photo shows a part of the Lake at Hvidkilde. The wood actually one of two islands in the lake.

The legend goes that giant Pikes (Predator fish) lives here and is able to eat swimming ducks. Too bad is fishing not allowed - only for the owners.

Second note! Yes perhaps the wood too dark - my camera couldn't get the white boat and the dark background in one shot, I tryed a workshop

Very beautiful colors, especially the blue around reflection of the boat. In a way, I am glad they don't allow fishing, or you might not get the calm waters to create this beauty. Well done, Jeppe!

You are too much indolent, Jeppe. This photo looks like one of those taken by Yesterday but timing is not extacly the same. A pity because at 4,50 a.m. the picture would be better. Next time wake up earlier!

AT the end your pic is not bad at all: good colors and sharpeness. O.K. you deserves two points also this time (damnation!).

Well Jeppe I like the shot,
This is a good composition, with a great reflection and colours special from the boat, it's only a shame that the island is a little bit dark, otherwis you got also a better colours of the island, Maeybe, you had to do also a litle crop on the left side you have it ther cropped by the higest part of the tree, but I think you can do that better by the lowest poin of that tree. farther, yes I love it. very good job

Composition is good and reflection on the water is excellent. The island is maybe too dark but the blue colour of the water is beautiful. The water is calm like oil.

Almost becomning a classic TE motif the arrangement you've used here Jeppe, small boat foreground, body of water upper frame. Nicely done, interesting distant view of the wind farm.

Very clean and smooth photo, Jeppe, with a fine choice of double reflections from the island and the boat. I don't mind the darkness of the wood, for my personal preference it rather looks a little too bright in the WS. Interesting addition with the wind"mills" in the back. Well done.

Fantastic clear and sharp and full of rich colours. I also like the beautiful reflections on this "mirror", however the windmills are disturbing me here....

Glad you returned. The water and the reflecions look fantastic. Very good composition too. The trees are a bit on the dark side, but that's not such a big deal.

Jeppe, you are unbelievable. You just go out and take these - every day. Denmark cannot be that beautiful, and have that much good weather. You are a magician. For once I think I would have used the clone tool and removed the windmills - but that's just an idea.

Hi Jeppe, even as a miniature when browsing the pages your photo looks great ! The composition is nice but what's really stunning here is the absolute calm in the water and the superb reflection you coud achieve, this also enhanced by excellent colors.

I saw a lot of boat pictures at TE and this is one of those better ones. The colours, reflections and the overall scene, such graphical simplicity but at the same time, very well composed. Well done Jeppe.A good example for me.

It's a wonderful shot, Jeppe! The composition, the colours and the light are just great, I don't feel the little dark areas are distubing and I like the original more then your workshop. :-)

A pure and sweet image with a light which plays well its role here. The reflection is made a success on this water so quiet. I like windmills far off which(who) places us in our century, it is the touch of reality that touches(brushes) us before sinking into the charm of this nature. Great shot!

Une image pure et douce avec une lumière qui joue bien son rôle ici. Le reflet est réussi sur cette eau si calme. J'aime bien les éoliennes au loin qui nous situe dans notre siècle, c'est une touche de réalité qui nous effleure avant de sombrer dans le charme de cette nature. Très bien fait.

Hi Jeppe - another perfect composition, the essence of tranquility, I'm a bit late to see it, but better late than never. The windmills have a stark contrast with the calmness of the rest of the image, honestly, for that reason I would have preferred it without them.
