Morning mist meadow Photo

Photographer’s Note

I took a lot of photos at the 9 of October - due to some ideal weather - calm and sunny. The mist shows a little stream called Syltemae Å - It starts at the Lake of Hvidkilde (This photo) and ends at a place called Ballen (This photo) - its length around 8 km - even its small size its possible to catch trout and eel here.

Please watch this extra photo - it was hard to decide.

Nice, again a picture of Fyn! Do you~maybe live there?

The colours are great. And it's very sharp.

But what I most like is the composition. There is not just once subject/landscape.

First you look at the horses, than at the fog/mist to the left, and than you notice that there is also water on it.

And than... you notice that ther is also some water in the middle.

That 's a great compostion!

It's hard to decide between those two photo, Jeppe, but I think that I agree with your choice - the horsrs make the difference. THe light is amazing, somehow against the riles of photography, but with a very pleasant result. Beautiful one.

Yes, better this one with the horse. Golden landscape. The mist looks like the trail of smoke of a steam locomotive. Good old west. In my opinion you can crop the white sky without loosing the beauty of picture.

I prefer this one : The horses add some life to the landscape and it has more light than the extra one. I like especially the light beams thru the mist even at the cost of the little flare.
The earth exuding vapour is nice to see.

Both scenes are very nice, but the horses are decisive here, they give the "special touch" I think. The light and softness because of the mist is fantastic. A very nice landscape in this way, you've captured it!

Another instant classic from you, Jeppe. As the others said, you chose the right one as the main posting - the horses do the trick. Wonderful to see the mist rise from the meadows, reminds me of the steam I saw last year created by the hot springs on a chilly Yellowstone morning. The beams of sunlight being partially broken, partially reflected by the haze give a wonderful atmosphere and a unique yellow light. I think Gae has a point about doing this with less sky, but I also like it a lot as it is.

Wow! Unbelievable there are such beautiful sights in the world (and that you managed to capture one of them so nicely). What a beautiful picture. And I do like your choice (the horses make this photo even prettier). Once again has somebody taken a picture that looks like it's from the Fellowship of the Ring movie (LOTR). Hi Jeppe, this is really wonderful! The golden light everywhere, the glow on the horses, the framing on the right side with the tree, and the damp on the ditch that takes you into the picture, very well seen, and a very good composition, too.

Yes,a very ideal weather,calm and sunny with a lovely golden atmosphere which gives a warm feeling,...it's one of a great shot in matter of playing with light specially morning light,and really you controlled it perfectlly and show it in a wide landscape that include some lovely elements like horses,mist/fog,the sea/lake and...
nicely done,Jeppe,very well composed,a perfect composition really,I like it very much.

I wish I could get up in the morning and catch such scenery, but alas I am not an early riser. It's a wonderful golden image with many layers as the others have said. An excellent capture, well worth getting up early for.

I think you made the right choice here, Jeppe. This one has a slightly different light that I think creates a more golden feel. The streams of light seem to line up perfectly with the stream. Almost as if the sun is specifically singling out this stream. The mist highlights the stream even further creating a nice path. The horses anchor the foreground as they sort of look out on the landscape. That's probably the best reason for using this one instead. Great work on both, though.

Superb sharpness, & I like the warm, ambient, yellow glow of the directional sidelighting from the left. It has brought out the textures in the grass, & hightlighted the backs of the horses.

Poussière d'or, c'est une magnifique composition en contre-jour parfaitement cadrée.
Cependant le ciel est trop blanc, un cadrage avec moins de ciel est un meilleur compromis.

Gold dust, it is a splendid perfectly tallied composition in back-light. However the sky is too white, a framing with less sky is a better compromise. See WS.

Wow! What a beauty, Jeppe! :-) The mist brings the unique feeling of magic and mystery to the shot and the sunrays coming from left and touching so gently the ground and lake are the gorgeous detail that increases the feeling. Excellent job again!

In my opinion I think you made the right choice. The horses adds an extra dimension of life in this one. The mist raising from the creek gives the pic a touch of mystery. Must have been a tricky light condition this morning. It goes from under exposure to over exposure but somehow you got it right anyway. Great job Jeppe

Very nice atmosphere in this picture, i like the fogg coming out of the creek, the late afternoon light on the grass and the back of the horses.

Beautiful golden beams Jeppe. You were there on the right moment. White mist would have been good, but now it is even much better. The different yellowish green colours make it look like a painting.
