Photographer’s Note

This week will the harbour in Svendborg (a city on the south coast of Fyn) have a festival. The other years have this event ended with a firework - but 2005 was different - the firework marked the start.

Its the third time I try to get a shot for posting - and I keep improving my technichs (and cameras ;-)
I'm not sure of the result - better luck next year :-)

Incredibel nice fire-work photograph. Very sharp, good light and colours, and nice reflections. Also shot 2 and 3 are very good.

Superb Jeppe; you did right to post this as your main shot; it's definitely the best. Your speed is spot on. the fireworkis captured at just the right moment, and it is balanced in the composition with the lights and reflections below. Welldone

Hi Jeppe. Nice series with the fireworks photos, and good choice with the 6 sec exposure to show the graphical beauty of this festival of lights. My experience with fireworks shots is that they should be taken early on during the event, because after some minutes the sky is full of smoke which makes it harder to get good photos. Obviously you managed to avoid this here :) The "blue sky" workshop is my favorite of the other two.

I find the first photograph together with #3 shot the best, maybe these with the blue colours I find these most beautiful, my compliments Jeppe for these wonderful images of the firework.

Hi Jeppe,
A well captued night shot, with good exposure and colour flow. The reflections on the dark water really enhance and balance the scene and I like the puff of smoke in mid-frame. A very successful portrayal of the fireworks. Regards.

Excellent long time exposure shot and a good capture of the firework,you placed it perfectly into the frame.I like this one but the blue one is also very impressive.

This is really a great capture of the fireworks. I know it isn't easy at all to take pictures of it. The reflections in the water are also great, very well done!

Hi Jeppe, I enjoy the effect of the long exposure you have provided in this picture very much. The trajectory of each piece of the fireworks is clearly shown in this picture. You have well chosen to take this picture in front of water. The reflections on the water made this picture very impressive. Thanks for the additional picture in WS. A crispy sharp image. Well done.

Ah we just had firework yesterday night, didn't take a shot, you did it very nicely exposed with good reflection on the water, nicely done.

Hi Jeppe,
Good memories of Svendborg came with the seeing of this pictures. Many years ago we had our summerholliday a cottage near Svendborg. No fireworks than but even without that we had a good time there.

Hi Jeppe. Wow what a catch! I feel like I'm standing right there with you taking it all in. Norbert does have some good advice though. My favorite part is the glitter part falling back to earth. The sharpness is excellent. Very nice catch Jeppe!

It's a real success to have obtained such a sharp and well exposed firework view. The shutter speed is for me optimal to show precisely the firework shape and to avoid a too bright surrounding. Impressive! Thanks for sharing...
