Photographer’s Note

This picture is called Summer Waits, because summer is waiting just around the corner. This was taken on the first summery weekend I experienced in Denmark this year. My family and I went to Dronningemølle, a beach town, just to enjoy it. This is a picture looking out from the bluff over looking the beach and one can see the Kullberg penninsula of Sweden in the distance.

The empty flag pole has also been included, as it is a part of the waiting summer. Once the water in this area has been judged a particular color of flag will go up to indicate the cleanliness of the beach, and hence its bathing potential. It is always quite a big deal when a beach gets it's flag, especially if it is not the color they were expecting (thus a sign the water is less than perfect). But until the flag goes up, summer waits.
