Photographer's Note
This morning we had some sun for the first time in several days - I hurried out to catch some pictures. This lone dead tree is standing at Lake Esrum, which I have described in several other postings here on TE.
I am especially happy about the sunstar which almost seems as if someone has shot a whole in the tree.

Hello Allan,
The combination of dark colours and brilliant low sunshine creates a great atmosphere. If you use an higher diafragma (f/16 for example) the sunrays on the tree will become longer. Maybe worth trying once,

Beautiful picture, I like the mix between the dark cloud and the bright sunlight.

Hi Allan,
this is a very beautiful and well composed impression with the strong silhouette of the tree against this very dramatic sky. The sun plays an important role composition wise.
Excellent photo work! My compliments also for the nice note.
Warm regards

Hello Allan
This is a very moody and atmospheric photograph. The dead tree, placed off-centre, partially hiding the direct sunlight is very well achieved, and you've resisted the temptation to "overcook" the colours in post-production. Dramatic sky and dramatic light. Good work.
