Photographer’s Note

My trip to the TE meeting in Budapest included a small tour to southern Bohemia, a region that I had not been visiting for the last 15 years but I had been appreciating a lot at this time.

Unfortunately the weather did not help and I quickly understood I had to forget the legendary terror blue skies, in Ceské Budejovice the weather was so bad I went to a shopping center to buy beer, plenty of it and I'm still enjoying that excellent Gambrinus as I write this note, a bit later in Cesky Krumlov the weather was less humid so I could shoot a few pictures like this one showing part of the famous castle on the Vltava river curve, but due to the miserable light conditions I had to go for moderate HDR black magic before presenting it...

What you don't see on that image is the invading presence of all signs representing the western consumer society, and Cesky Krumlov has a lot of them, while I don't mind local beer hostinec advertising signs I find coca cola and the like international brands definitely a lot more annoying, especially in a place listed on the UNESCO world heritage. From that point of view Cesky Krumlov looked a lot better in the early 90's.
