Photographer’s Note

I took this photo last autumn, at four o'clock in the afternoon, when the sun was starting to get down. The photo is taken in one of the towers by the famous Charlesbridge in the centre of Prague.

The brigde was built in 1348 during the Golden Age of Prague after the older one collapsed. It crosses the river Vltava (called Moldau in most Germanic languages).

About the photo: slightly rotated (1.1 degree), slightly cropped, more contrasts (+5%), less light (-11%, although some lighter parts got -15/17%), sharpened in layers and resized.

Hi Stef,
from where did you take this photo? I think that from the bridge tower but I am not sure.
Nice POV and composition, just I am not sure about layers sharpness, it makes too sharp effect for me. Anyway nice autumn Prague photo.

The tower on the brige gave you a perfect POV to take the photo. We can see the statues on the bridge and the hoardes of people. We also have a good overview of some of the other city architecture. The only thing that seems a bit strange is the reflected light on the river on the right. Otherwise good work

Hello Stef,
i like the clearness of your shot as and the light that falls on the buildings of the city.The people on the bridge add a nice stroke in your capture.The overview of the bridge is really different from other photos that i even seen from this bridge.The reflections ? on the water is a bad moment but a minimum one in the whole synthesis.

Hi Stef,
A remarkable perspective, with good depth. I like the way the crowds of people catch the eye here, after the eye does a quick sweep of the overall scene full of buildings. Its as if those buildings are just waiting for the people to arrive...Good crisp sharpness and clarity throughout. A fine capture.

Hi Stef!

In some days I´ll be in Prague to enjoy of the same things yopur picture shows of today! It is very difficult to offer a differnt view from prague which has not been seen before, but you did it here, with this awesome view!

Une ville, un pont que j'ai beaucoup photographiée il y a 3 ans déjà. Je vois qu'il y a toujours autant de monde sur le pont Charles.
Joli POV qui permet de voir la rivière Vltava.

Hey Stef! It’s good to see you again. I never would have guessed this was taken in Prague but on second inspection I changed my mind. I'd say all of the PP you did was perfect and I don't see a thing I would do any different. I love the huge line of people too. Nice work Stef!

Olá Stef, great POV and composition of this gorgeous and well known city, with lovely warm autumn colors. The always crowded bridge makes a great diagonal bettween the trees. Interesting white reflections on the river...

Een mooi overzicht op een stukje van het schitterend Praag.
Al de mensen wandelend over de beroemde Charlesbrug, schitterend met al de herfst kleuren in de bomen, zeer goede samenstelling.

Hej Stefan,
Ik ga het rijtje van foto's die ik vorige week gemist heb verder af. Prachtige foto van Praag met een fantastisch licht en een heerlijk gezicht over de daken van de stad. Wat een drukte op die brug.
Ik las afgelopen weekend in Politiken trouwens dat de Universiteit van Praag de enige in de EU is waar je alle talen van de Unie kan studeren. :-) Maar dat terzijde. ;-)
