Photographer’s Note

It was a gorgeous sunset, and I remember I had waited until the light would be balanced between the close side of the river, the monuments, the reflections and the remaining light of the sky after sunset. At one moment I decided to use the tree leaves as a foreground. A close flash burst turned them into silver, reminding perhaps spring blossoms. Actually they are green but an excess of light created this bizarre effect on most of the reflecting leaves.

Probably because of the flash what you have got here almost looks like 2 different set of images. I know its not and thats what make this good.

Hi Izzet,
this is realy classical view to the Prague castle.
I think if you photograph it 10 min. sooner the light will be more soft and not overburned. The castle has many levels of warm and cold lighting which is not seen in the photo.
What I like is framing, blossoms makes nice spring mood.

This is such a classic shot, and so well done, that I just stand back and admire the artistry. Perfect time of the day to get some light in the sky, and the lighting on the buildings is great too. The real marvel is the blossoms at the top of the frame - great idea to show them with a flash. The result looks even better than I would have expected. Excellent!

Very original night shot using the blossom to frame the beautifully lit city. It was taken just at the right time to leave lots of details of the clouds. The reflections in the textured water are lovely.

Beautiful photo, Izzet, and very apt use of the flash resulting in an almost romantic rendering of the scenery. The view on Charles Bridge and the castle is classic as well as classy, and I like the variety of golden and ochre tones rendered in the illuminations during the blue hour. This should make a fine wallhanger when printed in big-size format. Greetings from Tokyo.

Ha, I didn't look close enough and just assumed they were Spring blossoms .. of course your composition is stunning .. and your control of this beautiful light creates a magical reflection .. dramatic and wonderful.

Hello Izzet - without the note I would have been fooled into thinking these were blossoms, anyway the result is brilliant, the leaves not only make a nice frame but balance the lower parts.

I've also tried something like that in Budapest this spring, but I disordered the composition: some branches swagged in the Matthias church.
